when we signed Amari, there was no way we knew would get Lamb

yeah dude, which is why i said in retrospect....it wasn't dumb at the time but it is dumb now and yes no way you could know they would get Lamb....bottom line is this team should be looking to move amari if they can get value and reinvest to other positions.

Dak - If we can get a franchise QB with the 1st pick, we should do it.
Zeke - I'd just move on. He doesn't produce *and* fumbles.
Tyron - Keep. Much of his cost is sunk cost. I thought he got past his back issues. Gotta evaluate post neck surgery, but if he's like last year for a few more seasons, that's a very good deal.
Martin - Keep. Duh.
Cooper - Can bail in 2022, and Lamb is a plug in #1.
DLaw - Lots of dead money here. I don't see him going anywhere. We're getting very good play for elite dollars. Not good, but not horrible.

Getting a franchise QB with a 1st is a massive win on the cap. Changes everything. Can drop our cap hit a ton if we move on from Cooper too.

McGovern and Biadasz give us cheap starters. Martin, Collins, and Tyron are all reasonable money going forward.

It's Dak and Cooper. Both become 30% of the cap. That's just too much. You can only get away with that if you have a bunch of guys on their rookie contracts holding up the team. We whiffed on too many on defense. Taco, Jaylon, LVE, Hill. They should be the pillars. But not.

It's not that bad on defense for the cap. DLaw is the *only* guy getting paid on the defense, and he's at least a very good player. I'm assuming we cut Jaylon and Crawford.

Dak is as good as gone. He had the best roster pieces around him including a top 10 defense and since his rookie year has regressed and simply is not worth a contract!
The man was tested and he FAILED as beating dog teams like the Giants and D.C. will not get him a new long term deal.

Zeke: Still a lot of talent there if his head is str8 and he has a QB that defenses fear.

Tyron+Martin are keepers.

Dlaw like you state is good and we are buried with that contract.

Coop was overpaid as without him Prescott couldn't get in the endzone.....He stays as the talent is there and with a better QB so will the results!

With the cap gained from the failed Prescott experiment and the rest of our picks, 2-7 should be both invested in defense.

P.S.For all you insulting Dak-Trolls there is no reality where we keep Prescott so start thinking accordingly or your Spring will be a sad one!

Many of us have been saying this for years

You can’t pay average players like they’re elite in a cap limited sport

This is more true of the QB position than any other so we are about to compound this problem in the off season

Colin....Cowherd....Oh yeah! The guy that for years said the Wentz is the second coming of Joe Montana and so much better than Dak.

Wait, there are people that still listen to this guy? You guys must not have much going on in your life. My 98-year-old German immigrant Grandmother that calls it fooootball knows more about football than this guy.

agree, and we need to rid the team of losers who just want to get paid and football is second or third on their list.

i dont worry about paying for dak or zack - those are two premium players in their prime and without health issues at critical roles

Tyron is a maybe - simply becuase of the injury history and im on the crew that is ready to move on from him....however, maybe being off the rest of the year gets him healthy again

Zeke and Cooper - while i like both, were dumb contracts - zeke especially, cooper was not dumb at the time but in retrospect its dumb since we picked up lamb

Dlaw - this one is so hard....guy is very good but just doesn't get the stats....IF we had a good DT push i dont think we would be having the same concerns with this guys contract, but the problem is that hes literally the only talent on the worst dline in football and is just not worth the dollars.

Dlaw is hard? He is the worst contract on this team.

I've been saying that for years.

"We like our guys" so much that good players get paid like great ones because the Cowboys routinely overvalue the talent level of their team. That's what happens when the people picking the players never get fired no matter how often they screw up, and their egos want to believe they've put together a championship roster.

How does a guy coming off a horrific injury not have health issues? Plus you named 6 players how does the other 47 improve? The cause and effect of these dumazz decisions. And it will be even worse when they give Dak top dollar.

Well.. I'm on a Cowboy message board so i'm not surprised to find people on here who think he is elite.

This whole video is talking about not paying good players like they are great.

I think Dak's biggest achievement has been his ability to sell fools gold to fans that buy into his stats that come against horrible opponents.

:hammer:

Bottom line.....we were 8-8 with Dak last year......and 1-3....this year. You do not sign a guy to 40 million a year...w/ those kind of stats.

uh....you did look at the initial caption of the video right? I simply included the 6 players he had listed as the most expensive...

And dak has had one injury his entire nfl career which is not a chronic injury situation like a Sean lee or Tyron Smith....very different

you don’t like dak, that’s fine, but don’t try to act like he has an injury prone history

Dlaw is hard? He is the worst contract on this team.

he’s the best player on the defense by far and his stats are just not there right now for many reasons which is why it’s hard.

and for what it’s worth he is the 5th rated edge pass rusher by pff
