With the endless debates about if fans (not players, coaches) should root for tanking, I wanted to see what has got fans excited about the previous two weeks that is meaningful?

The scoreboard result likely isn’t going to be meaningful for playoffs this year.

Did you see better play calls, player development or things that can be built on for next year?

I’ll say Donovan Wilson is the only bright spot I’ve seen. He was making plays on the run prior to yesterday but he finally started making plays on the ball which helps him be a more complete safety.

Jourdan Lewis is tempting, but we’ve seen 4 years of data on him. It’s hard to get excited about him vs bad teams when he’s been bad vs good/average teams.

Pollard? The 40 yard run is great but at the end of the game when SF knew it was probably over, does that erase the 11 carries for 29 yards prior?

I would get excited about the OL, but the fronts the last two weeks aren’t very good with SF injuries.

these wins are so epic that they mark the defining moment as the birth of our next dynasty. the pain is over.

well ok, the loss of draft capital that might actually make the statement above possible is the #1 thing that gets me excited (in an agitated way).

in a positive way, player development, roster & coaching evaluation is the only good thing that was ever going to come of this season.

The effort of a struggling team, that still plays hard. I want to believe that bodes well for the future.

Unfortunately in our situation being bad is what we needed.. The worse the better and we probably needed a couple of years of it..

Mediocrity brings more mediocrity in sports unless you get super lucky and draft a transcendent player, usually a QB, outside of the top 10 and get a Title on their rookie deal..

Dallas is headed down the classic path of mediocrity.

I know the tankers are pissed and I would like the higher draft picks because I don't have much confidence in this brain trust.

However, one thing that had been missing from all of our tank talk is probably the most important part of this. What's more important? Players not yet on the team or making better players out of the large majority that will comprise the team in 2021?

We haven't just been watching a team trying to win some games, we've been watching a coaching staff, with the DC under fire, trying to win over the players so they can have a more productive off season and move forward.

Better draft picks? Yep, I get it and I agree. But this is like 5 card draw with a 2 card draw limit, 60% of the cards are still going to comprise your hand. Is it better to have a team to be thought tanking or one to be fighting to at least salvage something from this season?

What's the greater benefit? Higher draft picks or taking a 4 game winning streak into the next season? I think all of this tanking talk has shifted too much of our emphasis on what isn't even here yet when we should be focused on improving what's already here. These players finish out 4-0 they're not going to feel like losers and they'll be more focused on looking forward to the next season instead of just wishing this one was over.

I know one thing, been some happy Cowboys fans watching these last two games and as small as that crowd was yesterday, they we're all in.

Absolutely nothing..

We’ve negatively impacted our future.

Actually the opposite. Putting together 2 wins, and if we can win another, that goes so much further going into next season. Picking 8th or 12th or 15th, does not matter like the wins and a positive attitude does. Players will have more confidence in themselves as well as the coaching staff. If the scouts do their job, they can draft a player that has the same if not better impact on the draft.

Don't give me this, but yeah, a higher pick means better chance of success. No it does not.

Only thing I like is hearing who’s going to be cut/traded/fired at the end of this absolutely putrid and horrendous season.

I am pleasantly surprised by the play of Brandon Knight, Dalton Schultz, and Donovan Wilson.

When backup players are contributing in major ways to help you win games, there's a lot to be excited about. Tanking be damned.

Many fans will be disappointed when what they want does not happen. Then they whine about it for years.
Kind of like now actually.

I like the fact the players and coaches are not giving up. Much to the dismay of many fans, that do not understand the true meaning of sports.

Answer: Seeing Dallas play.

1-15 season. Super Bowl season. And all seasons in-between. Losses suck but every game is a joy that I cannot enjoy the rest of the year.

One day I will stop enjoying any Dallas games. Permanently. In the mean time, I will not waste a micro second taking for granted future experiences that may not happen before my destined deadline hits.

Go Cowboys.

I feel like we have been on it already...quite literally with all the 8-8 years. Theres been as many clunkers like this year as good seasons over the past 25.

I used to trust that Jerry would do whatever it took to win. I still do, only nowadays its business first (remain competitive), and if they happen to win along the way, then great.

Hence....where we are and have been.

What gets me excited is that we still have a chance with the easy schedule between all the teams I keep telling ppl once u in the dance anything goes teams will have bad games big drops so calls may come our way our lil 15k fans can make a difference u never know n the defense forcing turnovers now

  • The Coaching Staff - Still deficiency, obviously the defensive staff is a mess, but I think McCarthy has figured out what he does and doesn't have and is starting to coach effectively. We can say what we want about Garret, but I think he understood his roster and while was sometimes frustratingly conservative, he was so because he understood how to protect deficiencies. I think we now have that, and am excited to see what can be done with a full offseason and some health. Special shout out to Joe Philbin who is working with 3rd stringers in some cases and while they can't run block for anything and Dalton needs always be on a timer, at least it is no longer mass histeria.
  • Dalton Schulz - He's a good player who deserves his spot. As far as I'm concerned, he is the starting TE and Blake Jarwin now must earn snaps away from him. I'm very comfortable going into next season with Schulz, Bell and Jarwin.
  • Donovan Wilson - Been a good few weeks for him.
  • Hunter Niswander - Chris Jones is done as far as I'm concerned. He hasn't had good tape in 2-3 seasons and this guy is doing good work.
I wish there were more - there are some good pieces that make me excited in general but not necessarily because of the last two weeks. WRs, Demarcus Lawrence, etc. But the team still has no answer for the running game, needs health on the OL and QB. I think we also could do better at kicker (and worse, of course.) There's just so much opportunity for improvement that i hope we have a strong offseason.
