The net cost for keeping T.S. in 2021 looks to be under $6M. Can't let that kind of talent go at that price. 2022 a different story. If he winds up missing numerous games in 2021, I think they pull the plug for a near $10M net savings in 2022.

I’ve been saying this since Tyron cost us the ATL game Chaz started and blew. Tyron has been missing too much action for years now.

Just as big a concern as the entire defensive roster and who will be it's coach.

LT is the second most important player on offense besides QB.

This spring is time to find the change of the tackle.

Back Issues just don't go away and he is no spring chicken in football years. Got to protect the Blind side.

I'm not saying the rookie has to start in 2021 but, the window is closing. Draft a tackle and spend the rest of the draft on the "D" side.

If i'm wrong tell me...I'm sure you guys will..

There *may* be some question about Collins' long term health too.

If Sewell is there at our pick, you take him, no brainer.

Considering he’s the best LT prospect to come out in like 10 years though, I doubt he will be available.

Edit - And for anyone about to tell me that “whatshisname said he wouldn’t be a Top-3 OT last year”, they’re wrong. He is literally a near perfect prospect. You have to really, really nitpick to find any significant flaws in Sewell’s game. I can’t remember the last time and OT has had the pure talent he has.

La'el collins hip might be the determining factor on taking a tackle with a high pick. The writing is on the wall regarding smith. But Collins is an unexpected surprise.

This is the problem, instead of running your football team like a football team you choose to run it like a frat house.
Frat house? Until this year he has never missed more than 3 games in a season...27 for his 10 year career counting this one. Lael Collins has missed 34 in 6. Player who best compares sacks and pressures allowed to him is Terron Armstead, he’s never played a fullb16 game season in his career and yet you never hear Saints fans talk about replacing him. They’re smart enough to realize the value of someone who can be left on that island without help even if it’s only for 12 games a year. Drs believed the issue was correctable and that surgery would prolong his career. If that’s like a frat house then sign me up, I likes over indulging in alcohol!

Was, Don't get Jerry syndrome now. He is still very good "IF" healthy. That is the question. Either way, it's time.

He’s only 30.

He’s got 3 more years of paper.

And he is elite. No question about it.

Counting the 14 this year Tyron has missed 27 games in 10 seasons. L Collins has missed 34 in 6... for perspective. Drs felt the stinger issue was correctable and the surgery would prolong his career. Even playing hurt you can put him on an island without help and he’ll dominate the opposing teams best pass rusher. Im thinking you don’t move from that until you’re sure you have to!

One of my favourite all time Cowboys easily...he has given up his body, his health and likely money to stay a Cowboy. As much as we need to replace him, he will have a starting spot as long as he can stand and play. To be honest, he deserves as much.

You are, of course, correct but Jerry's way is to keep players past their prime, until the wheels come off and he gets no enumeration for oldsters.
Sean lee is a prime example. Tsmith, believe me, can stay as long as he wants in Jerry's coddled camp.

The best season Dallas has had in rent past? 2014 & 2016. Both years Smith was 1st team All Pro. He made the Pro Bowl every season after and was named within the top 100 players.
Even if he's not 100%, even if he's played injured he's one of the best. Ride it until his contract is up.
Drafting a Tackle with the 1st "might" pan out, but consider just last year the 1st taken didn't have half the season as the linemen taken later.

20 comments in, but yet to view the "trade Tyron" posts that I've seen on several threads concerning Smith throughout the season.

I agree, the injury bug has become the albatross of the offensive line.

We discussed this 2 years ago when his back issues started. It should not be a surprise to anyone.
