that's BS , I live here in Washington, actually coach against Haskins in HS, but the kid didn't take it serious which is especially a no no for a qb, he was late for meetings and most times the first one to leave. Ron gave him every opportunity to prove himself, even made him a captain. always supported him in the media. he had the selfie incident, the many self indulging tweets, he responded to almost every critic on social media, this year after a 20 point loss to Ravens, he bragged in the locker room about his 300 yard game. the list goes on. he did it to himself
Thank you. I live around the corner from bullis. Thus far the kid is about the lifestyle football can bring, not about the football life. He's young and can change that but it's up to him.

Right on Fur. How many championships were made from a solid to excellent defense? Like..welll... MOST.

You HAVE to be able to stop if not destroy opposing offenses....to some degree or another. I suppose you can't really DESTROY playoff-caliber offenses. But you do have to play them toe to toe and just a little bit more.

I don't think we've totally ignored defense in previous drafts. But...we have not been adept with it. Let's line up the top 5 needs you describe and the top 20 players to fill them through the 1st three rounds.

Exactly, and people forget. Part of the reason we were so successful in the 90s (while I was a foal) was because we had one of the best defences in the league. It sure helps when your defence can get you short fields. But you can't exactly get short fields if you're getting gashed for 250+ yards on the GROUND. Especially in a league geared for PASSING. We struggle at something that dates back to the beginning of football. If we want to go up against the likes of Green Bay in Green Bay in the NFCC or Kansas City in the Super Bowl, we MUST stop the run! Bottom line! If we don't stop the run, we won't win. We have been great at drafting offense, but we've been subpar at best on defence. This must be fixed! We are FINE with Dak. We will be FINE if we resign him to what he wants. Where we WON'T be fine is on DEFENCE if we don't do something about our ground defence!

he did not, Daniel Jones was a 4 year starter, who was much further along in his development than Haskins, Jones came in and kept quiet Haskins didn't. The owner also forced the pick, when the football people didnt think he was the guy,
He made the comment the league done messed up and then came in pouted.
And that's exactly how he got screwed over. They knew Haskins was raw they should've sat him. They threw him into the fire and wondered why he wasn't progressing. He's not ready.

exactly, when you ignore your lifelong mentor's advice who's been around the league and with some very good coaches, you have a problem.

Then he didn't do his job as a head coach....

Even though soon as he got there he traded for Kyle Allen. He already had his mind made up.

do his job? his job was to work with the kid and give him a chance, it wasn't his fault covid hit. He brought Allen in as a mentor to Haskins to help him with the offense, while also having a backup plan if Dwayne wasn't grasping the system due to lack of an off-season due to covid.

what? man you don't know this situation at all, he sat his first year behind Keenum and Colt McCoy until week 9 and only played because of injury to Keenum

Obviously Haskins largely has himself to blame for his immaturity, lack of work ethic and lack of self-awareness, but WFT is a death pit for QB’s. He was put into a situation where he was never going to succeed, a situation where he wasn’t even wanted by the people he was supposed to be working with most closely, namely the coaching staff. Add to that he lack of experience in college and he was set up for failure. I have some sympathy for him and hope that he joins an organization that gives him the opportunity to mature and improve.

even though the coaching staff didn't want him, he didn't want to go to Washington either. but with that said, they have him an opportunity to learn and he chose to be a child.

Never did..

Im just not scared to draft QBs high and risk reward is worth it..

Clearly QBs on rookie deals are having more success then then the Deshaun Watson contract types.

Pay elite guys.. Let’s the tier 3 QBs who want tier 1 money take a hike.

If a QB busts it’s not a big deal like it used to be.

Haskins wasn’t taken because of talent anyways.. He was taken because of position.

He was a solid prospect that busted.. Big deal.. Try again.
Catch17.….what's your take on Trevor?

I think he’s one of the best talents to ever come out..

Basically a poster boy for a modern day QB.

Big, Tall, fast, Quick release.. Can make plays in and out of the pocket.

No glaring holes in his game and unlimited upside.

We can only control what we do. Work hard do your best, if the current staff doesn't want you, be the best for others to want you. When you blow off thomas davis who is trying to help you, that says it all. Not open to listening because you think you know it all. I hope the kid turns it around. Lots of md fans hated him for decommitting but he did what was best for him. I hope he can grow from this but he's gotten what he's put in up to this point.

Ok...thanks.

Not a problem....but I'd be curious in asking if DWatson was a 1 read systems QB at Clemson....what would be the difference in system for Trevor now, at Clemson?
And we know college QBs have to transition to more reads and identifying coverages with quickness to make the next big step. No knock on Trevor implied.

No team even picked this kid up on waivers.
Wow! How far he has fallen.

I'm saying he didn't do his job if he didn't know what Haskins was. You claimed he didn't.

Sounds like you don't know the situation at all. I sad they should've SAT HIM. Not start him week 9. He wasn't ready.
