Reasonable trade values for key players?

Just to preface, I'm not suggesting blow up the team. I wouldn't mind drawing a consensus on the trade value of certain players, however, since it may be wise for the front office to explore all options to build the defense, and draft picks certainly help. With that in mind, what are realistic trade values for players such as;
Gallup, Cooper, Tyron, LVE?

You’ll probably never find someone to take Cooper or Smiths contract so there’s no trade value there. Gallup is UFA after next year so youre not going to get value there. LVE has under performed since his rookie year and is injury prone. I’d say we would not get what they are worth in trade value with these four.

I mean... if this isn’t an example of QBs having bad games, I don’t know what is. Everyone hating on Dak here needs to hate on Wilson just as much, especially since he’s getting paid a large sum of the cap. I know he’s won a SB, but that makes this whole game even worse considering he’s been in this position before and he should know better
Reasonable point bro, but wrong thread, lol.

Well you know the Cowboys have overpaid, overdrafted and underdeveloped most of the players on the team so we have very little trade value. However, I could see some of the players going to other teams and becoming All Pros. So the better question might be, "Which players do you think would be All Pros on another team?"

that’s a really good, valid, yet sad post. We probably have a lot of good-great players that would make for a good roster anywhere else, but they are so underdeveloped due to Garrett’s past teachings and coaching and Jerry Jones atmosphere. Look at Jaylon and Zeke. Both gave up right after being paid. It happens SOMETIMES across the league, but for so many players to just give up on the same team after being paid is pitiful and disgusting. As a result, our players are not only underdeveloped, but our team is as a whole. Notice how our players ball out after leaving Dallas? That’s cause other teams take football seriously. Ours doesn’t. They DEVELOP players. Ours doesn’t. The Cowboys are like the spa resort of the NFL teams. They don’t take anything seriously and they think life is all luxury and massages. What a joke.

Well no value before free agency when guys like Godwin, Golladay and Robinson are slated to be Ufa.

I don't think his contract will be considered high after this latest round of fa is over. Jmo

Gallup-2nd; maybe 3rd
Cooper-2nd
Tyron-3rd (due to injury history); maybe even 4th
LVE-4th at best

Just throwing out some guesses

Hmm, your thoughts are close to what I had in mind.
In that hypothetical, I'd likely move Gallup if a team offered a second round pick, and I'd strongly consider Tyron if he could net a third, due to the injuries.
Cooper would have to fetch a first and third for me to move him, and I'm not convinced a team realistically offer a haul like that.

Gallup would have some real value.

Smith and LVE have serious injury question marks.

Cooper has a $20M guaranteed base salary next year. With the salary cap issues most teams are facing, I don't see too many trade partners. Maybe a Jacksonville or NYJ if their new Head Coach wants to get a proven weapon for their brand new Quarterback.

Also, for the most part, our Front Office sucks at trades.

I would put Coop and Pollard out to see what I could get. NE might be interested in Coop. They need a WR in the worst way and he is young and very good. They don’t have a QB contract to hold them back at the moment. If we could pull their 2nd. I would flip him. Pollard might get us a 3rd. He is proven he can play at this level and be productive. Which is more than any rook can say.

Yeah, I strongly doubt a team would give up a 1st for an aging WR with some injury history and under contract when they have a good chance of drafting a good to very good one in a draft loaded with WR’s.

I would be skeptical of giving up a 2nd for Gallup but would consider it only because he’ll be due for a contract soon.

A couple years after Gil Brandt left the Cowboys he said something about player values. He said there was 4 values for every player.

1. The value his team has for him and the least they would accept in trade for him.
2. The value the other teams have of that player and the most they would give up to trade for him.
3. The value the fans of his team think the team should get in trade for him.
4. The value the fans of another team would think their team should give up for that player.

Brandt then went on to say that values 3 and 4 are seldom if ever the same as 1 and 2.

This is how I'm answering your question about playing GM and trading some players.

The best trade value is Lamb, better than Cooper because of the contract. That said, WR's are plentiful.

The best trade value is Cooper, despite what people are saying about his contract. The Cowboys gave up a 1st round pick for him knowing they would have to pay him that money and other teams will too. Also, Cooper is under contract through 2024 with most of his contract being salary. It can be restructured by any team willing to push his cap impact out a couple of years. If you think Cooper is too valuable to trade and worth the $22 million the Cowboys will have to pay against the CAP, then why wouldn't other teams feel the same way? The question is, what could they get for him. I seriously doubt they can get a 1st round pick for him. Houston got a 2nd round pick and a RB for DeAndre Hopkins. My guess is the Cowboys might get the 2nd round pick for Cooper and maybe a player.

Gallup probably has some value, maybe a 4th or 5th round pick. Tyron is a question mark because of his injury. A team in dire need of a LT may want him. Trent Williams was acquired by the 49ers for a 5th in 2020 and a 3rd in 2021. I suppose a deal for Tyron, who is a few years younger might look like that.

I am on the trade Cooper bandwagon because he does have some value and they need to clear some CAP room for defense. While Cooper is a great route runner, he is not my type of player. I would rather put the money into the defense because with their current defense they will never win anything. Cooper may be the best trade bait on the team other than Zack Martin who I would never trade.

Doubt we’d get anything more than a 3rd for Gallup because while he’s an excellent number 2 receiver, I don’t think he becomes an excellent number one... and these days there’s a lot of very good WR’s available in the draft.
Sadly the players we’d like to trade away, have big contracts that make trading them near impossible.

Gallop would draw the most interest. Probably net a 2nd. But the Joneses aren't smart enough to trade him.

With the cap being so tight for many teams few will take on big contracts. Players will be cheap in free agency except for a few that get signed by their own clubs like Dak.

Cooper, tyron, jarwin might have interest but taking on their contracts will be tough for some teams.
