The supposed $175M cap floor and Dak’s injury status will drive the QB market for Dak.

I’ll say it again. No one is giving up two firsts for Dak.

I'll give you 5 teams right away, Indianapolis, New England, New Orleans, Chicago, and Washington.

Then you have many other teams that would move on from their QB for Prescott, Denver, Carolina, Detroit.

The demand will be there. It will be a sellers market.

Wow you really love Watson!
No way I’d trade the three center pieces of a great offense for one QB who may or may not even be better than what we have. I love to watch Watson play but I don’t trust him over the course of an entire season. He flashes but he also flops. I trust Dak a little more actually.
I think the Cooper contract is fair, it’s the Zeke and Jaylon contracts that screwed things up, huge contracts for players at cheap positions. Dak is getting paid either here or elsewhere. Watson already has a big contract. I think folks are failing to connect ditching a great player leaves a hole at a position and although it gives more cap money you still have to spend it elsewhere. The cap is really just a shell game.

You would have Watson with Lamb and Gallup. Wilson would be the slot. Jarwin and Schultz at TE. The offense would still be good.

You have 10 picks to draft defense, OL, and running back. It could be done, and easier than you would think.

I am not sure why Watson feels aggrieved. He doesn’t own the team. He is a paid employee. Well paid, I might add.

I think if I were Houston I would make Watson play in Houston, or sit him on the bench.

Rivera is like us, he isn't going to settle for a quarterback. You know like our fans say, "who are you going to get? Stats prescotts don't grow on average trees?"

I'd prefer to allow Washington to get by as best they can, without any help from anyone. We've got too much competition as it is!

The Commanders are a qb away from being a very good team. It wouldn’t shock me if they use all resources to get him
Watson has a no trade clause. He wants out of Houston but he is not stupid. He will never agree to go from one dysfunctional organization to another. Washington doesnt even have a name yet

Kill a couple of birds with one stone.

Trade Elliott, Cooper and two number one's for Watson.

Exclusive tag Prescott. With the QB market as open as it will be Prescott can get the deal he wants and Dallas will get back two number ones.

Or just sign Prescott and trade him with Elliott and Cooper for Watson.

Don't know the cap ramifications, just a thought.
Thank goodness you don’t run the Cowboys.:D:eek::rolleyes:

No one is giving two number ones for a QB who oscillates between mediocre and good, and is coming off a compound fracture and dislocated ankle, and cannot put full weight on his leg more than 3 months later, and wants $35-40M per year and probably won't be able to pass a physical in March.
The Washington Football Team would. With Dak they become Super Bowl contenders. If we had a top 3 pick to draft a quarterback, the Cowboys would have to consider it. The 19th pick and something in the late 20 next season is nothing for a franchise quarterback of Dak’s ability.

The Saints are 100+ million over the cap. No chance

I don't know why people think the Patriots would be interested in Prescott. Given they didn't pay Brady less than $30 million for a year or two, why would they suddenly pay circa $40 million to a guy coming off a compound fracture in his foot?

The Colts is an interesting one. Whichever QB lands there is laughing as they have a very good balanced team right now and are immediately ready to contend for a SB.

Depends on what that houston idiot asks for watson. There will be several QB's on the market for Wash to look at relatively cheap. If the jets grab another one darnold could be had cheap, fitzmagic, dalton, alex smith who ownership loves, to name a few guys under 10 milliona year.

They have to. Their defense is good and young. Watson could be a huge upgrade to that team overall

Short term. Great

Long term. Bad

Simple fact the majority of the squad is on rookie deals. Watson will take up a chunk of cap. So they better win year one or two. Because they have to play a lot of guys top tier money

Don’t think they’ll want the contract. They have about 8 young stars that all will need paid soon

I still see Miami or the Jets. Both the Jets and Dolphins have a top-five selection this year plus a second pick in the first round.

Bingo! I'm guessing the Skins would have put at least 3 1st round picks .........

The Dolphins just picked Tua 5th overall. They have a potentially good young QB on the cheap for 4 more years and you all think they are going to dump him for a malcontent that is set to make $40M in 2022? Not happening.

You are mixing things up.

1) No team is giving up two 1st rd picks for Dak. None. Ever. Perish the thought. Just not happening.
2) The teams you mention surely would be interested in Dak. Their level of interest depends on Dak’s asking price, the finalized 2021 cap, the expected 2022-2025 expected cap, and Dak’s health.

If Dak is demanding $35-40M average then all those teams will say no thanks. Why pay $100K for a Mercedes when a $25K Honda does basically the same thing? If the cap is around $175M then no team will even waste time trying to fit Dak in at 35-40. Can’t be done without too much risk.

14 weeks later and Dak can’t put full weight on his foot. The beginning of FA is two months away and the draft three months away. Can Dak pass a physical by March? If not, then all those teams definitely bail at anything over $30M and have serious reservations at lower salaries.

Too many unknowns right now and way too many red flags. We will know at the beginning of March what the cap is and whether Dak can even run.

The Texans will probably trade him for a 2nd round pick, lol. I wouldn't like having him in this division.

No team is giving up two firsts for Dak. Will Mac Jones be there at 19? Teams would rather go that route than gamble and pay $35-40 large for a mediocre to good QB who can’t even run right now and a cap maybe at $175 small.
