Forget about the Eagles players wanting Staley, this is a ambitious hire, taking a chance on an up and coming coach.

Basically what we should have done last year and this year on DEF

We’re going to be decimated by our division for years to come. We have the worst coaching in the division by a long shot. That’s a smart, high risk, high reward choice. Big Mike was a high risk, low reward. Now with Quinn and Moore by his side? What a joke. Sad that Dallas went from a dynasty team in the 90’s to the Knicks of the NFL now.
LOL. This guy didnt even call plays in Indy. You need some Zoloft man.

Exactly. Dude could be the next McVay or Lafleur. He’s a wildcard. High risk and reward type. Big Mike? A loser. His final seasons in GB with AARON RODGERS at QB and he still couldn’t get it done. If we have another losing season, McCarthy, Quinn, and possibly Moore are OUT. I guess it’s a win win either way it goes for us. Too bad Jerry will just hire another retread.

Just because he didn’t call plays doesn’t mean he won’t be a good coach. Sean McVay was OC for the WFT 2014-2017 and they weren’t that great then. Now he’s taking the league by storm, as he’s still being talked about despite making the Super Bowl 2 years ago. Matt Lafleur went team to team from 2015-2019 before coaching the Packers, and look at how much success he’s had. Wildcards are the best. Mike was a “get what you get” type. We know who he is by now, and he’s not great as he showed in GB in the later seasons (even with A-Rod at the helm). It’s showing in Dallas now.

Leadership matters less than Xs and Os.
for the head coach? john harbaugh is a great head coach and he was a special teams guy. if you are a great leader and manager, you can hire coordinators to take care of the Xs and Os imo. how many head coaches do the actual Xs and Os game planning and play calls? How much of the indy offense was reich?

No he isn't, at least not anymore.

The problem with having to hire coordinators is that the good ones all move on, and you can't guarantee consistency. It's why guys like Payton, Reid and soon-to-be McVay and Shanahan will have so much staying power.

If you don't win with Xs and Os on offense, you're handicapping the entire team. Doesn't matter how good your leadership is if you can't score 30 a game.

LOL at Philly trying to hire as close as possible to the real reason they finally won a super bowl... Frank Reich. They’re hoping this guy has a little bit of what Frank has.

It does seem that way. Hopefully he fails. Players wanted Duce Staley, who should probably leave.

I’m glad it wasn’t Duce. The team would have loved playing for that guy. Lurie/Roseman have been making horrible decisions for a long time now... going back to firing Reid, lol. Andy would have Wentz playing like a top 5 QB. That guy is an offensive genius and a bonafied QB guru.
