We should have taken Thornhill

And why is everyone acting like Hill hasn't been trending upwards in his level of play?

Hill was showing improvement last season

My main issue with the Hill pick is that they telegraphed the pick. They decided Hill was the pick before even knowing who else was available with the pick.

that’s poor drafting strategy IMO

Always Jerry's fault when a player we pass on does well. We take a player who does well and Jerry had nothing to do with it. Right...

To my knowledge, only one owner in the history of professional football fired not one but two Hall of Fame Coaches. The previously stated fact should give you some insight into Jerry John's football IQ.

If you want Dallas back in the playoffs, you start by getting a president and a GM, who know what the hell they are doing.

I posted this in another thread:

LVE first round pick

taco- first round pick

Jaylon-34th pick

gregory- 2nd round pick

Chico- 2nd rounder

trysten hill- second rounder

that’s 6 first or second round picks that have either been flat out terrible or they get almost nothing out of for various reasons

Lee was a second and while he was good for a little while he was constantly hurt, Connor Williams is useless he was a second. The drafting here has been god awful. Gavin Escobar another and was dog excrement.

The cowboys telegraphed the pick.

everyone knew they were taking Trysten. The Dallas media. The fans. Everyone on this message board.

everyone knew the cowboys decided they were taking Trysten before their pick was up and seeing what other players were available.

then better players fall right into their lap, ready to be picked. And the cowboys still stick with “their guy” and take Trysten.

All because Trysten went out to a nice dinner with Marinelli and they fell in love or some bull**** like that.
they wrote a work hard contract on a bar napkin. what a joke.

Landry was done in the NFL. He did the right thing, he just went about it the wrong way. Johnson (you know, the guy he hired to replace that HOF coach, who is now in the hall of fame) has stated time and again he was leaving anyway so whether he fired him or not didn't matter. He wasn't going to be here the following season.

Jerry's hits have been few and far between, like a broken clock being right. 25 years of proven futility and incompetence but you are right, he needs to be given credit for the few right picks he did make.
The Cowboys have been excellent at drafting recently. But the good picks were made by someone else. All the bad picks were Jerry Jones alone.

We passed on so many players over the years, it is amazing they were able to field a team.
I mean last year alone they passed on 16 players before they drafted Lamb. I mean Jerry could have traded up to get anyone of those players.

Could have had Brady, Montana, player x, player y, player z.

I bet some on here would have said pass on Troy, take Mandarich. Or would have whined they traded up with Seattle and took Dorsett. Emmitt, how many would have whined about that, saying he is too slow?

Now we will be bombarded with more of these crappy threads than ever.

What's bad about Thornhill was his draft profile was "round 2 grade, day 1 starter at a position of need".

It's not like this was some random jag we passed up, it was very obvious he was still on the board and that we needed safety position........

The Cowboys should have drafted Tom Brady.
Heard a stat that Brady has either won or participated in 18 percent of all Super Bowls ever played, cant remember which, but that stat is mind boggling.

This isn't really accurate. Jones agreed to letting Landry go so he could purchase the team, Landry was awful toward the end.
And Johnson stated himself that he didn't plan on staying in Dallas more than 5 years. That was more of a mutual parting.

Because its not true. Worst rated dt in the nfl

if you are talking about PFF then no he did not. also, we have already demonstrated your lack of ability to observe or think for yourself. I have repeatedly challenged you to discuss football as it is played on the field and you consistently fail to do so.

Hill was inconsistent but that was an improvement over what he was the year before. Given the lack of improvement by anyone else on the squad that is noteworthy.

Upcoming Super Bowl is no. 55. Brady playing in that one will be his 10th.
10÷55= 18% participation rate.

I wish I was a little bit taller

In the 11th grade, I should have made out with Amanda G. She was hot. She was into me. She had a cute Aussie accent. She liked my guitar playing, but I wasn't experienced with women back then. So, yes, we should have drafted Thornhill and Rodgers. And I should have made the moves on Amanda. She totally would have reciprocated. But, ya know, it's water under the bridge.
