There would be no 90s Cowboys but the 9ers were dumb enough to Steve Young > GOAT Montana in 1992-93, GOAT would’ve beat the Cowboys b!\]h azz!

GOAT got robbed by his own team. Listening to Bill Walsh cost the 49ers two championships. Cost GOAT two chips, now he’s a distant second to a Bum! Pisses me off!

You’ll say GOAT would not have beaten those 90s teams! I would say:Those 90s teams weren’t that great!

You got lucky buff turned the ball over a hundred times in 27
21-17 game without the turnovers

Thurman fumbled the game a way in 28

You got extremely lucky in 30
Steelers had your O on lock

you weren’t that great of a football team! GOAT would’ve beaten you!

Oh I went to the NFL article in question. That the OP seriously misquoted.

The ranking was for the QB’s 2020 season. In which Dak only played 4.5 games.

not the QB’s overall ranking amongst starting QB

So even the article itself doesn’t say Dak is the 16th best QB in the league. Which the OP neglected to mention or just flat out chose not to.

For being ranked 16th and only for 4.5 games. That is a tribute to how well he was playing. however many will disregard the facts.

There is not 15 QBs that I would take over Dak for the next 5 years. There are 6 though.

Wilson, Watson, Jackson, Rodgers, Mahomes, and Allen.

Meanwhile the entire team, coaching staff, front office and ownership are giving full
credit to Brady for their successful season. He threw 40 TDs.

I give him credit to. Having a top 15 QB was all they really needed. Did you really expect them to go "well who cares about Tom Brady" when he is THE QB FOR THEIR TEAM NEXT YEAR.

What team that knows their starting QB next year is throwing them under the bus? When does that EVER happen? I genuinely want to know because I cant think of a real case going back a decade.

Nobody asked them to give credit to Brady. They openly offer it in every interview, unprovoked.
The coach, in front of his team, said all it took was one guy.
If you want to say Tom Brady is only top 15, well, that's just ignorant. Plain and simple.
Notice, I made my point without getting my caps lock stuck. Try to carry on a discussion
without hyperventilating into a rage... lol/smh

Ranking him at 16 is a joke.

that’s the explanation.

btw I don’t know who “NFL” is and how that person came up with their ranking.
Prescott had the best numbers in the NFL before he got injured. And I love that Mahomes choked in the Super Bowl

16? Wow that's a stretch. Do YOU personally have 15 qbs you can honestly put in front of him?

I've got:
Mahomes
Rodgers
Brady
Wilson
Allen
Dak
Herbert
Watson
Murray
Jackson
Stafford
Car
Ryan
Goff
Tanny

Off the top of my head I've got him conservatively 6-10. Thats not a Dak fan boy ranking or a hater. Many of those are interchangeable. In any event Dak is probably 5-8.

Yes I'd pay him, because he seems to improve each year and I dont believe he's the type that will get paid and get lazy. Also because drafting a QB is a crap shoot and we have a ton of offensive talent. Imagine a world where we had a decent defense. With the current structure of the league most QBs are in the AFC now. This is the perfect time to make a run in the NFC.

Hes not better than watson or Murrayor jackson, and Herbert has wayyyyy more talent than him

I don't think I would include Jackson or Allen. Both came up extremely small at the worst possible moment in the playoffs. Allen had a nice season though but Jackson took a step backward IMHO. Maybe if Allen has another season like this last one I will reconsider but that's assuming Dak stands still or takes a step backward too. But I need to see it more than once and I need more than what he showed in the playoffs.. frankly he was kinda carried by the defense against the Ravens but had a nice game against the Colts but then wilted against KC. His career playoff passer rating is like 10 points lower than Dak's and he has been held under 20 points twice in his playoff career.. Something that has never happened to Dak. Jackson has been even worse in the playoffs. That 68.3 passer rating aint gonna cut it. Playoff defenses can at least slow him down as a runner so he has work to do before I would sub him in for Dak. But it's a certainly fair point in the discussion.

GOAT Montana til the end and back again.

To me Montana is the BEST...Better than Brady all day. Handles pressure better than any QB ever in my opinion, but its hard to argue that Brady isnt the Goat with all the accolades.
GOAT doesnt always mean best to me..

The article on NFL ranks Dak at exactly #16

Some of you want to pay the 16th ranked QB 40 million dollars a year crippling this teams chances of doing anything meaningful for atleast 4 more years

please explain....
Not the biggest Dak supporter but 16 is low. They did the same with Big Ben when he was hurt and everyone tossed him aside, not sure how, he's a top 4-7 QB every year. Dak should be in that 8-13 range.

Im fine with that. Many of those are debatable. Allen is phenomenal and getting better. I think highly of Dak as well. The take home point is he belongs in the conversation, not all the way down at 16 or wherever the OP wants him.

I love Allen. Was telling the QB challenged fans about him for two years now. But prior to THIS season, Allen didnt have 1 300 yard passing game.

What we see with Allen is what many of told the QB challenged fans about Dak.

Allen needs time to mature and needs weapons around him. We see that now in his 3rd season. He also has a great defense on the other side of the ball.

No big ben on anyones list?

Idk.

Big Ben is a hall of famer. He has had a great career. I think his shoulder isn’t right. His play style changed this past season after shoulder surgery. He was a check down machine and seemed to struggle pushing the ball down the field.

He isn’t the same player he was. He was still solid. But not one of the best in the league anymore.

Nobody was beating those 90s Cowboys teams IMO. I mean, obviously we all have our own opinions and that's cool but nobody was beating those 90s teams. That's the best team I've ever seen. They would have beaten anybody IMO.

I think people are kinda missing the mark here. This is not about who is best or better, this thread is really about who is more valuable, in terms of GMs around the league, right now.

Our fan base, is not the most objective, in terms of evaluating Dak's worth IMO. He's 28 by the time the season starts, that's not old but it's not young either. He should be right in his prime, playing his best football but he's not. He's broken, coming off a serious injury that has already taken one season of development and improvement away. Dak wants record money, which doesn't improve his value. He's not the best passer in terms of overall skills. He's not the fastest or quickest. He does have a ridiculous amount of intangibles but all of that goes out the window once his athletic ability level starts dropping off. These are some of the things GMs evaluate. He's kind of in the middle. He doesn't have that value bump young players get who have crazy upside and he doesn't have that track record that suggest he is among the elite at the position.

This is how I believe a lot of NFL personnel people see it.

The Dak hater trying to claim others aren’t objective. Lol
