MM didn't get the job not being on board with Prescott as the QB and promising to make him better.
Just like his analytics nonsense and watching every cowboys game, which both were lies..he would have done or said anything to get the job,I like MM,but I don't believe a word he says...but your response didn't answer the question coach.

So ignoring everything that happened in the world the last year is intelligent?
One has nothing to do with the other.

The cap is based on a percentage of overall revenue.

No one counted on this type of disruption to the system and it hurt both sides.

They have the means to borrow from the windfall of future years.....and probably a large reason why we see the TV deal thing being secured before the league year begins.

Neither the players union or owners benefit by having to cut a ton of players to get under the cap.

I really just meant that the media will keep guessing. I could do the same on a deal. But here we are 2 years later. I would rather have a deal to work with but at this time I really don’t know what the FO is doing.

Seems the FO is trying to get something done they feel they can live with and still retain the starting QB. I get frustrated with the business side just like anyone else and wished a deal could have been taken care of earlier on. I think this time around they will manage to get it done as opposed to a Franchise tag

Maybe
But remember that before Dak went down, he seemed pretty comfortable in MMs offesne.
I know they were three of the very worst pass defenses in the league, but MM did get to see Dak and the offense light up Atlanta, Seattle and Cleveland.
Extremely hard to measure due to how bad those pass defenses were....but 500 yards and 40+ points are still pretty sweet
I guess the lingering question is how e do vs the better pass Ds.......guess we'll see.
Good points Dfc,but that doesn't answer the question.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
The only hope I have is Prescott's greed. This front office desperately wants to do the wrong thing. Again. They need to be saved from themselves. Again.
The only hope I have is that you follow Wentz to Indy. See ya!

Real question,What if dak is not the qb that MM really wants but is forced upon him by jerry, sort of like haskins and rivera or rg3 and shanny...not saying that's what going on but what if it was? What should happen?
Well, goes without saying they won't win.....but first and foremost IMO, MM shouldn't have taken the job if he expected to have a QB other than Dak.

Tremendous username BTW.

If McCarthy thinks for one second this organization prioritizes him over Dak....he has another thing coming.

You are exactly right. Zeke is another one lol. You say anything positive about Dak and Zeke and you get labeled a "homer". Hell I even defended Jaylon a few times and never got labeled that lol.

And it's not even a matter of hater or homer. I mentioned one time that I didn't think that Heath was "the worst safety in the league" or "trash", but was mediocre, and was blasted as "you don't know anything about football", etc.

Can't have a different opinion around here by some....

Oh for goodness sakes, 26 years of no Super Bowls and you can't muster up at least some optimism?

NOTHING is guaranteed in NFL football, if we don't have hope we have nothing, sorry I can't be a Cowboys fan that way....
Well there’s a difference between leaving a glimmer of hope in place and lowering expectations which is a more realistic approach especially based on our recent history and dysfunctional organization than a false hope or unrealistic expectations which are based on pretty much nothing more than an eternal optimistic sales pitch.

And can leave us forever frustrated and disappointed instead of adjusting those hopes and expectations which provide more reasonable outlooks until results and current history improve. Then those hopes and expectations can be elevated .

I agree . The answer is often more in the middle and not at both extremes.

I like Dak.

I’m just realistic about his impact that he provides on the field and how the numbers his contract is rumored to be doesn’t validate it.

You’re not capable of having that thought because you are too big of a Cowboy homer and you will Pom Pom everything they do.
So because I think Dak is the future at QB for the Cowboys I'm somehow "incapable of having a thought"? But you being a well known hater are? Yeah, ok.

I been there with Heath.

THat's what they do on this site. They go to extremes. Nevermind, they don't read all your posts to know how you truly feel on a player....they see a few posts and label you "homer".
