Jimmy may need to stop drinking, not saying he's totally wrong, because all and need good players around them. But he also left some receipts that kinda contradict what he's saying now.

So, regarding Dak being a good QB getting a great QB contract.....well, Jimmy just said the same thing.
He likes Dak, of course, but said (unlike some of the great QBs) Dak specifically needs great players around him to win.

That's all Colin said earlier and some tore him a new one.
Jimmy just said the same thing.

this

not once has Jimmy said that Dak is a great QB

Jerry is an idiot, but that’s par for the course

Yeah, poor old Mahomes has had to carry the Chiefs all by himself. It’s a shame he hasn’t had any great weapons at his disposal.

So basically Jimmy just echoes everything i've been saying?

The Cowboys don't care about winning Superbowls. They made that clear this week. They just want to be relevant.

"He can win if he has great players around him."

"I don't think Dak can carry a football team if he doesn't have great players around him."

Jimmy just knocks it out of the park here and he does it on record. I'd love to hear his thoughts in a more casual setting if he's willing to say this publicly.

He's basically saying what all of the "haters" have been saying. I guess the groupies will now be saying that Jimmy is old and senile and doesn't watch football like he once did.

Now Jimmy tell us what you really think??????? After watching this interview I could read Jimmy's face like a book and you could tell he was holding back and biting his tongue about the whole situation with the Cowboys. He knows Dak is average at best and because of this greedy contract this team is going to be a bottom feeder in a bottom feeder division for years to come. Jimmy said it best when he said Dak CAN'T carry this team and won't be winning any championships anytime soon. He also said that Dak will need GREAT players around him to win and once again because of this greedy contract there aren't going to be any GREAT players showing up anytime soon because there's not enough money to pay them. Dak got what he want, a fat *** contract that will pay HIM well, but it does nothing to help plug glaring holes that needed to be plugged if this team was looking to win now. Dak Prescott is nothing but a greedy rat who hasn't won a dam thing and is now laughing all the way to the bank! Hey JJ how does Dak's *** taste????????????????

I felt Jimmy was right about "this team's ability to win the East is good if our draft picks are successful, but that's about it, though."
this is the problem with the dak sigining and the other bad expensive signings ( zeke . Dlaw, cooper, Jaylon etc) Overpaying for mediocre talent and neglecting the defense. And the result is an NFC championship every now and then and no CCG or Superbowl. This is why the dak signing is fundemanetaly the wrong way to build a team that has not reached a CCG or SB in 25 years.

It's a good thing Jimmy lucked into Troy Aikman to carry those crappy talent poor teams to Super Bowl championships .. I mean the defenses were only #1 or #2 in the league at the time and the running back never finished any higher than #1 in the league in rushing.. and the receivers were just so-so. Oh and the offensive line was clearly garbage. That's why Jimmy had Troy throwing it 45-50 times a game and putting up 400 yards and 4 TDs every just to have a prayer of winning any games..
