Eagles
Davonta Smith is an elite playmaker, but the roster around him is bare of rice and beans. Philly went after one special player, and might have found him. Smith's 169 lb frame might not be a problem...unless/until one big hit tells another story. It's a mixed bag: We Cowboys fans will be reminded of this trade whenever Smith scores TD's on us. The pain will likely be limited for awhile. In making this deal the Eaglets gave up a chance to go to the plate and take a swing in round three. Eagles fans are going to suffer losing seasons through 2022 at least, as they need LOTS of players, and trades like this will only delay the assembly of a complete roster. They aren't set at quarterback...nor on their o-line...nor in their secondary. They are still a mess.

Giants
I thought they scored a roundhouse punch with their trade-down, securing a nice offensive weapon, while stockpiling picks, including 2022 1st. And while the 2022 draft will likely be better stocked with prize fish, their new offensive toy is a bit gimmicky. It's true that Toney bears the most resemblance to a whirling dervish in this draft, has ungodly balance, body control and jukes. Still he's ultimately a small guy who ***isn't that fast***. I saw a very ordinary corner run him down from behind in a highlight reel. This is a very, very poor man's version of Tyreek Hill in terms of top-end speed. He does have some little-man magic, though. I'll give him that.

WFT
I don't understand their selection AT ALL. They have one of the greatest needs in the NFL for a wide receiver, and this draft was loaded with gifted receivers. So they decide to draft a linebacker who might have still been available in round 2? Jamin Davis might be one of the freakiest athletes since Barnum Bailey troupe was rolling, but he was only able to win a starting job in his senior year. Seems the Skins are aiming to win all their games 10-7. Good luck with that. Give Fitz a top threat across from McLaurin and I might be sitting here nervous.

The WFT solidified their brick wall defense.

I suppose that was the thinking in Washington DC, but Davis will likely add little to it. Obsessive thinkers are so predictable: "Let's build the greatest defense in THE UNIVERSE." We will be THANOS." Stupid Vanity.

Reality: They already had a very good defense. Value and need screamed receiver. And there were lots to choose from.

igglets screwed up, again and I'm glad for it. Smith is a stud but one player does not make a team.
gmen screwed up again and I'm glad for it. Toney, really? wow just glad they didn't take Slater
wft got better on defense and I don't like it. Davis is a stud LB. He makes plays, behind that D-line he will look great

This was from Move The Sticks back in March:

"If you're asking me for somebody that is going to go outside the top 10 that I think could have a Rookie of the Year-type impact, I'll go to Kentucky and I'll go to the linebacker. Because Jamin Davis looks so much like Darius Leonard when you study him, and you saw the impact Leonard had as a rookie coming in the second round. I think this kid is going to find his way (into) the first round once he gets to his Pro Day and people really get a chance to put eyes on him. He's got some "wow" plays with his range, with his ability again in pass coverage...he covers tight ends all over the field...he's someone I honestly didn't really know who he was during the fall--nobody had said anything to me about him--and then you're just watching film and going through all the tape and this guy just jumps off the screen. I did find out from a couple of buddies in the league, yeah, they weren't trying to get that one out (not wanting Davis' name out there in hopes he'd be overlooked). But you can't hide how athletic that kid is."

Agree about Philly, kinda agree about NY, definitely agree about WFT lol...Dallas got a stud at LB and picked up additional pick in the process. If you feel Smith was gonna go to them or New York anyway, might as well pick up some additional draft capital and still get your guy.

Terry McLaurin (WFT WR) is very underrated.

The Eagles got a great player who's going to be a handful every time we play them. I liked the WFT and Giants picks from the Cowboys perspective because they both were big reaches, they both could have done much better.

A handful only if he’s schemed open. I’d rather see him in a Jason Garett designed offense, but alas...

It’s was pretty obvious the Giants were set on taking D. Smith. Since Eagles jumped up and Giants still took wideout nine picks later. I’m glad Smith is not on the Giants. I’m also glad Paye is not on WFT. Eagles got a great player but I’m not sold on their current QB1.

It is only 1 round, just like the Cowboys, all 3 teams have a chance to do improve their draft tonight and tomorrow.

The Giants are loaded with weapons now. I don't care if Toney runs a 4.41 instead of a 4.26. He makes plays and is slippery as heck. But the Giants also have Golladay, Slayton and Shepard at WR, Engram and Rudolph at TE, and Barkley at RB. If their OL blocks for Jones, they have a top notch offense. And, they have a first round pick from Chicago next year which could be a top 15 pick.

Everyone is picking on the Eagles but I think they are going to be better than we expect. I get it, Hurts is not a very good QB. But he doesn't have to be. All he has to do is protect the football and let his defense control games. If Dillard comes around their OL should be fine. They still have Kelce, Brooks and Lane Johnson. They are all very good offensive linemen. Da'Vonta Smith is going to make plays in the NFL. he has at every level he has played, just like Emmitt Smith. The have Reagor and Quez Watkins who is a burner. Goedert and Ertz are an excelletn TE combo. Miles Sanders is an excellent RB. Their defense will be strong because of their DL. Fletcher Cox is slowing down a little but he is not done. He can certainly push Connor Williams around.

The WFT needs a WR, but this is a deep draft for WRs. McLaurin is an excellent WR and they found one of the best TEs in the division. But Washington is about defense. They we good last year and they improved some this year. Jamin Davis is a very good player and he is going to open some eyes for the FT because he will be playing behind a DL that can protect him, and keep him clean. He has sideline to sideline speed.

The Cowboys have the weakest defense in the division right now and it is not close. The other teams are improving on offense. If the Cowboys offense sputters in the first half of games like they did when Dak was healthy last year. the Cowboys will struggle to win their division.
