Eagles
Davonta Smith is an elite playmaker, but the roster around him is bare of rice and beans. Philly went after one special player, and might have found him. Smith's 169 lb frame might not be a problem...unless/until one big hit tells another story. It's a mixed bag: We Cowboys fans will be reminded of this trade whenever Smith scores TD's on us. The pain will likely be limited for awhile. In making this deal the Eaglets gave up a chance to go to the plate and take a swing in round three. Eagles fans are going to suffer losing seasons through 2022 at least, as they need LOTS of players, and trades like this will only delay the assembly of a complete roster. They aren't set at quarterback...nor on their o-line...nor in their secondary. They are still a mess.
Giants
I thought they scored a roundhouse punch with their trade-down, securing a nice offensive weapon, while stockpiling picks, including 2022 1st. And while the 2022 draft will likely be better stocked with prize fish, their new offensive toy is a bit gimmicky. It's true that Toney bears the most resemblance to a whirling dervish in this draft, has ungodly balance, body control and jukes. Still he's ultimately a small guy who ***isn't that fast***. I saw a very ordinary corner run him down from behind in a highlight reel. This is a very, very poor man's version of Tyreek Hill in terms of top-end speed. He does have some little-man magic, though. I'll give him that.

I don't understand their selection AT ALL. They have one of the greatest needs in the NFL for a wide receiver, and this draft was loaded with gifted receivers. So they decide to draft a linebacker who might have still been available in round 2? Jamin Davis might be one of the freakiest athletes since Barnum Bailey troupe was rolling, but he was only able to win a starting job in his senior year. Seems the Skins are aiming to win all their games 10-7. Good luck with that. Give Fitz a top threat across from McLaurin and I might be sitting here nervous.
