I would not be surprised if he was one of the nickel linebackers really quickly. As has been said, LVE and Jaylon aren't good cover guys.

Your next thought is "this guy is just a nickel linebacker?!?!?" As Quinn has said, teams play nickel most of the time. Its functionally the base defense.

Now you are thinking "fine, but what about Parsons? If the team is in nickel most of the time and Cox is half of the linebackers, where does Parsons play?" Good question. Personally, I hope that Parsons can play some DE on passing downs.

Dallas got a lot faster at LB with Parsons and Cox. LBE ran a 4.66 40 at the combine. Cox ran a .52 on his pro day and what better is how fast he plays on the field. We saw a lot of RBs and QB get outside on Dallas last year with Jaylon Smith just a step or two too late to the Edge. Parsons and Cox should fix some of that. Watch videos of the Cowboys games last year, LVE and Smith looked like they were running in wet cement much of the year. The Cowboys needed speed on defense and with Parsons, Cox, and Joseph, they got some.

Cowboys starting defense featuring “CoxNDix”

The TV crew needs to be careful when doing Cowboys games next season.

I can see someone saying "That was a great gang tackle by Smith Diggs Cox and Lawrence".
