Reason to worry about Kelvin Joseph?

The guy misses practice. Someone tweets about it and states that the reason is unclear. Bossman feels no need to simply clarify the situation. Instead he chooses his ridiculous reply. If you don't think any of this is immature then I would hate to see how your children behave.
It would seem more that the immaturity is on the part of the guy that authored the origginal tweet, although really it's just a tactic to draw attention to what he posts.

We don't know if Joseph has acted immaturely, or if there is a reasonable explanation for him not being on the field that day. He is under no obligation to engage in the media rumor mill.

Yeah thats my point. I can only speculate how others think, but the lack of posts kinda translates to a lack of interest.

Anyone that can't see Ball as a bigger red flag than Joseph is an idiot, for the record.
I will say what Sydia is correct though a lot of Ball threads and posts did get deleted because I guess of the subject matter at hand so I Did forget about that.

They got deleted fast. I'm forgetting the posters name but the guy who "loved" Zeke made a few and they got deleted as they dealt with the DV.
Yeah man you are right I forgot about that. I know I saw a couple get deleted. I guess that kind of helps in why it seems he's getting a pass here...

I get what you're trying to do.....you're trying too hard. We already have one @Risen Star on this site.

Some of this is ridiculous, frankly. Jaylon Smith came out as clean cut as one could be from Notre Dame but once it was reported he was big on starting small businesses, people started to complain that he couldn't focus on business and football. So it wasn't the "rapper" issue that was the problem. It was the fact that he had a serious off the field interest that people were afraid would take away from his football career (or make him lazy on the field because he had something to fall back on).

People trying to apply race to this are overreacting IMO.

Further, Ball got smoked here after his pick. Those threads got cut though because people started getting personal in the threads and the chatter got hot so the mods starting cutting that and even posted that the Ball discussion had run its course and they wanted people to get away from it. So to act like Ball got a pass (because he's white) and Joseph isn't because he's black is a reach IMO and ignores the very heavy discussions about Ball in previous months.
Tell you one thing.....if Joseph, or any player for that matter....enters the stadium looking like a 70s street pimp....I don't care if they are white, black or purple, I'm going to have a tough time liking them.

Former #54 did exactly that

I have no idea what happened in the case of Joseph and I really don't care. I'm sure he had a valid excuse.

If I have one problem with Joseph...during his initial PC he was asked about the music thing, and his reply was..."I know football is what's going to get me paid."

Maybe I take it wrong, or maybe he wasn't prepped enough...but that sentence stuck out IMO.

Did he leave the Cowboys for another team? He did that at LSU, ya know?

I don't care what these guys are doing before camp. I still don't get OTA's but the optional OTA's are really a puzzle. Is paying these players optional?

They didn't need any of this back in the day and many of the players used camp to get in shape.

Something tells me Bossman and Jaylon will be spending similar amounts of time in the film room.

What the Cowboys are doing in these OTA as McCarthy explained is putting in phases of the system so that when they hit training camp they know what is going on and they should have a very good understanding so that the focus is on getting ready for the season not teaching basic concepts on the system on offense and especially on defense given the rookies coming to camp. Joseph may have a very good reason not being there but I do think it is important for players who are now considered professional to act like it and take this job seriously. Again I can't say anything about Joseph situation, since I don't know the reason. But voluntary or not this should be one of the most important things in these players lives after all they are paid very well to do this job.

I don't feel the need to explain my absence from practice but I do feel the need to post a cryptic message on twitter telling the world that I do not feel the need to explain my absence. It is such classic passive aggressive behavior. It really has to make you wonder why.

Sounded like a reasonable response, I actually respect a man more when he talks with his true intentions... Im just willing to let OTAs be OTAs, I will wisely choose to reserve judgment until it actually matters.

There is something to be said for that. Joseph is one of the draftees coming in with a ? with a lot of fans so he needs to do it better.

Yosemite acknowledged the fans reaction to him being drafted first and I think that got them on his side quickly.

Joseph needs to be attuned to the public's perception of him and this is a team with history with problem players. As Cowboys fans, we are a little more sensitive to this.

And if they loved football, they would be happy to just get out there and play some ball with their teammates.

Meh I guess when you are a rap super star you don't need to treat football like a profession. It is just a game after all.

I agree. I understand there can be reasons why a player would not attend an OTA be it a family situation or his health but voluntary or not I feel players have a responsibility to their team and to the profession. We do this every year and many of the same poster who complain about the culture of this team will say OTA are not big deal, well if they were no big deal coaches would not bother to have them and your right a person who loves this game and understands how fortunate they are to be able to play this game at the highest level should be chomping at the bit to be out there with his brothers

We do not know why he is not there, making assumptions without knowing is being pretty short sighted.

If only there was a simple and easy to use means of mass communication that someone who knew the answer could use to clarify the situation. Unfortunately it simply does not exist.
