I could not help but notice in these videos that folks keep posting that Lamb looks noticeably thicker in the arms and legs. The Cowboys were clearly kidding when they listed him at 195 last year.. I would saw he was closer to 180 back then.. and he is certainly closer to a legitimate 195 now..

Hopefully it helps him break more tackles. He was a YAC monster in college.

Yeah he has great run after the catch ability which frankly he could not take full advantage of last year because people of now playing against grown men. He was never able to pull away from these big strong guys in the NFL because he was doing it with a college kid's body. He's going to be a closer to a grown man himself this year so he should be able to use his natural ability to turn little plays into big plays for us.

His YAC at OU was due to some really poor tackling and that is pretty standard in the BIG 12, the passing conference. They spend more time on covering than tackling. I've never seen the stat but I would be surprised if the Big 12 didn't lead the FBS in YAC.

I hope Dak stops throwing so many high balls to CeeDee, especially since CeeDee willingly goes up high and grabs them. My concern is CeeDee coming back down and hurting himself due to potentially landing wrong which could cause him lower leg injuries.

Hit him at shoulder level, Dak. Stop throwing so many sky high balls.

what's gonna be interesting is because of the multiple formations, whether set or moving, it's gonna be difficult for teams to match their best coverage CB on Lamb, and
I figured he'll have his way both in the slot and both outside spots on occasions.

But with these receivers being in alignments such as rub routes and bunch formations, the Cowboys are gonna have some instances where Lamb gets several
free open field runs on the move that's gonna lead to several YAC plays.

The back shoulder is almost always a high throw.. the idea being to give the receiver a chance to GO UP and make a play on the ball. Lamb cannot outrun AB or Joseph or really any of the upper tier corners in the NFL so a lot of his plays will be going up and getting the ball. You really need to start working on that now, not during the season.

This is a fair point but I do believe that Lamb having put on 10-15 more pounds of muscle this offseason will be great for him and for the offense in general. Still I would question whether the Big 12 spends any time on covering either given the number of receivers we see running butt nekkid through the secondaries in that league.

They ain't running nekkid because the DB's pulled their uniform off, they don't get their hands on them.

You're asking a lot. The talent isn't there. He's an area thrower once you get open. No anticipation, no touch, no accuracy.

Good points, Ronnie. I pray CeeDee stays healthy coming down from some of those high throws.

Yeah as we saw last year the kid has amazing (almost Dez level) body control in the air so I really don't worry too much about him landing wrong and getting hurt. He also has the benefit of being 22 years old and as we all know the body bends all manner of weird ways and snaps right back at that age. But still it bears watching to see if he and Dak can get better in sync on those throws so the degree of difficulty can be brought down a couple of notches.

CeeDee seems to have the frame to put on 15 pounds without losing much agility. If he can keep the weight on he may pass Cooper as WR1 on this roster pretty quick. The tough part isn't always putting on the weight though its keeping it on. Not uncommon for skill guys to lose 5-10% of their bodyweight from the start of camp though the early weeks of the season.

The single most underrated part of the receiver's repertoire is the thing I liked the best about Lamb coming out, and liked him more than Jeudy, are his hands. And wouldn't you know it, they tied for 2nd in the league with drops. He has to improve on that because he led the team that led the league in drops.

What I found interesting that was for about 5 years running the team that led in the fewest drops was NE with a bunch of no names but they all knew, they drop it, Brady might not come back to them. Do your job.

Lamb needs to understand his job, catching the ball first. That DB will let him get all the yards he wants with Yards After Drop.
