Was this guy the one who was drafted in the late rounds from a small school? Or am I thinking of someone else?
'American's Cowboy' - I believe you are somewhat correct in your assumption.
Robinson finished his collegiate career at Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale FL, but was drafted in the fourth round by the 49ers in the 2016 draft (
two picks before the Cowboys drafted Dak Prescott).
Seemed Robinson never learned from his past mistakes and took his talent and opportunity to get into the NFL for granted.
* Suspended for failed drug test & substandard academics during 2014 season; then denied permission to re-enroll after an arrest for unauthorized entry into a teammate's apartment July 2015 while at LSU.
* As a member of the Jets, suspended first 4 games of 2018 for violating NFL's substance abuse policy in July of that year.
* After being released by the Jets in May 2019, Robinson was again suspended on July 17, 2019 for violating the policy - it was for the first ten games of that season.
* Reinstated to the league in March 2020, the Cowboys signed him soon after the season started. Robinson yoyoed between the PS squad and active roster.
This past April, Rashard Robinson was suspended a third time for violating the substance abuse policy.
