I want to corral the extremes on both sides in one place like we had to do with Romo so the rest of us can have normal discussions.

We definitely need this for Dak. And it appears the best solution creating a playground for both extremes.

I’d encourage everyone to join the crusade to relieve the forum of this distraction and bottomless pit of regurgitation and dribble .

Start a Dak forum for the Homers and Haters.

I’d also support a pinned thread so all of the Dak drama can be sought after in one place. And or limit members from starting multiple Dak threads which incites Troll like responses consuming front page.

I’ve only been chiming in recently calling out both sides. And I’d gladly give it up to stop all of the foolishness placing them in one place.

Why would you want it to continue. ? It’s the Dak Haters you despise the most .

I would definitely want it to stop but I’m also against heavy handed tactics.

This is an excellent ran site. An owner who is also the administrator makes all of the difference. I’ve complimented them from the onset time and time again.

But as we’ve seen over the years occasionally a topic becomes so hot it either needs it’s own forum or a pinned thread. That’s all I’m asking to consider here. Especially with the regular season approaching so these threads don’t fill the front page

It’s obviously heated up with his contract signing this year. So much that the extremes on both sides have polluted normal discussions that could derive . They spew the same rhetoric over and over again. And why it’s time IMO to create a Dak playground of its own.

Extremes don’t want to be placed in one playpen. It would be a death for Trolls.

But we’ve had to do it on other hot subjects which can consume the front page of the forum.

Wait until the season begins. Then I hope we’ll see more control and or restraints placed on the subject.

I remember the Romo forum on the old dallascowboys.com site from my limited time there. It did keep the crazies at bay for the most part.
Allowed for more rational conversation/debate in the main forum.
Yep

It’s only a few bad apples spoiling rational discussions for most fans .

Yep. It always comes back to the QB, too. On the old dcc forum for example; one time I said that IMO, Romo was a top fifteen QB (not the fifteenth best, mind you, just a broad way of saying he was good). This one guy (an over-the-top Romo homer) wanted a name-by-name list from me of the QBs I thought were better than Romo.
Same stuff happens with Dak - from both extremes. You think Dak isn't elite? The homers call you a hater. You think Dak is about on par with Watson? The "haters" say you must be a homer. The craziness should be contained in it's own forum, off of the main board, for sure.

We have temporarily created player-specific forums in the past such as the TO Zone, Romo Zone, etc. and they just did not work at isolating those topics, at least not to the level of continuing them.

The reason they fail to isolate those topics is because it is a team sport and as a team sport, most Cowboys news will in some way involve more than one player, especially the quarterback.

If Dak threads were relegated to their own forum, then users would be more inclined to take any opportunity they have at discussing Dak in other non-Dak-focused Fan Zone threads.

In other words, the Dak-related post counts would be about the same in the Fan Zone but rather than organizing and separating them in Dak-related threads where users can choose to avoid them, they would be mixed in with other non-Dak threads where users would be subjected to Dak posts even more.

The reality (no pun intended) is that a lot of fans like Dak and some fans do not like Dak, but stifling the opinions of either side is counter-productive to the purpose of a discussion forum.

Of course we sometimes reign things in a little, especially when a topic starts to saturate the site, but ultimately we try to respect everyone's opinions when it comes to the Cowboys whether its their front office, coaches or players.

We do moderate trolling posts when a user is not really trying to discuss something but instead trying to annoy people who disagree, but we are all Cowboys fans and all deserve to voice our opinions on the team.

Another example above from a Dak troll ( anyone who names Dak 666 the Devil I can list as a Troll) who is adding nothing to the discussion but trolling others and the thread. Which is the best example of the quest I’m suggesting.

This is exactly what our Administrator who responded above was calling out that they’d curb and take action against.

I respectfully disagree. What's being curbed are the opinions of many many fans on other topics due to the nature of the Dak topic taking over many threads.
