PFT rating MM hot seat watch

It's tricky a season for MM coz many, including Jerry and Stephen, believe this team now has enough talent for a deep postseason run. In other words, his seats going to get real hot anything less TWO playoff wins IMO........injuries, CV-19, won't matter

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy: They had the best loss of Week One. For now, it looks like they’ll be good enough to keep McCarthy from being in real trouble. But there’s still a long way to go. Hot-seat rating: Two.

Talent ???seriously ??where on offense, sure but he had ZERO on defense and mess on ST..

MM is not on a hot seat he will coach 2022 if not 23 unless she does something to embarrass the organization..

so stop wishing it happens sooner..takes longer then one shorted c19 injury riddled no offseason 1st season and 1 game into 2nd season..so stupid to even suggest he doesn't deserve a 3yr time table to rebuild this mess..not sure i even count 2020 ..

Playoffs or bust.

McCarthy was a questionable hire to begin with. Then he made a catastrophe hire of his buddy Mike Nolan, who was a total disaster. He gets no rope. Pull the plug sooner rather than later. I don't need Jerry dicking around for 4-5 years trying to figure out if McCarthy is the guy when it will be obvious after this year if he's a good coach for us.

Think the Cowboys have the best coaching staff they have had in a decade….MM, Quinn and Boy Genius Moore can do this. Just got to keep the players healthy, and find some play makers on Defense. This team doesn’t have the talent as the Rams, Bucs, Packers Saints have. Talent wise, the Cowboys are the middle of the pack team that needs to stay healthy to make a deep run in the playoffs.

A deep post season run? Most of the people I have heard look at this roster and predict anything from 6-11 to 9-8. Anything can happen like in 2014 and 2016. But you can't look at this defense and predict a deep post season run. BTW, our OL was top notch in both '14 and '16. Are they now?

I agree. It shouldn’t take 10 years to know if you have a coach or not. You should know within a season or two if you got the right guy. If you still have questions entering year 3? Can him. You’re wasting the prime of your guys all for the sake of looking right.

Correct..the shame is in a normal organization the GM would be in the room with his HC getting the.."I will not wait 2 more years"..our problem is this is the conversation "MM I'm gonna get angry if we can not figure this out soon " mm says "JJ its your players and ....." I still can not believe JJ has not figured out what his life would be like with a GM...seriously he could still "Rah Rah " on the radio and lay the bad onto the GM..Win win for him...

It seems to me that ever since Jerry Jones fired Chan Gailey in somewhat knee-jerk fashion, he's pretty much learned his lesson. He's admitted doing so prematurely and really coming to regret it many times over. I seriously doubt he'll dismiss Mike McCarthy until he's had at least 3 years to prove himself. He's been conservative about repeating that act ever since. Retaining Jason Garrett for a decade, despite his mediocre tenure was living proof.

Im good with that but just like any business..set goals and hold them accountable..it just seems like now he errors to the side of way too long.

There's something to be said for setting goals but I'd be surprised if he's inclined to give McCarthy the axe until 3 years are up. The media is routinely fond of starting "hot seat" rumors to keep things interesting. I imagine we'll see firsthand what gives this year if Big Mike comes up short.

The missing players have given McC all he needs to survive this season and keep his job. He's already played one game without his RG and RT and now adds both DE's to the RT and the 3rd WR.

The Joneses can crow all they want about a team roster but no one buys this as a depth roster, just the opposite, all the money is in the starters.

If they struggle, odds are it's the defense so what's Booger going to do? Fire McC and promote Quinn?

He is on record for pulling the plug too early with Gailey, McC is safe this season. And he already has missing players for job security.

I can see Jerry bringing him back next year regardless of what happened this year.

If last year was a mulligan due to Dak’s injury, then Jerry could say he only gave Mike 1 year, and in his mind it takes longer than that.
