An explosion of a franchise as Dallas, you don't keep any player out that is able to play. This is the NFL, not High School.

MEANWHILE....
https://thespun.com/nfl/nfc-east/dallas-cowboys/stat-about-trevon-diggs-season-is-crazy
1107 yards sounds like a lot - top WR type stat, but...

"It’d be an understatement to say Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is playing at a Pro Bowl level this season. In fact, at this rate, he’ll end up winning Defensive Player of the Year."

"Pro Football Focus recently shared a statistic about Diggs that puts his incredible season into perspective. Through the first five weeks of the season, NFL quarterbacks have a 38.9 passer rating when targeting Diggs.
Though it sounds crazy, quarterbacks would have a higher passer rating just by spiking the ball every play rather than testing Diggs."

"Diggs has already faced some really talented quarterbacks this season, such as Tom Brady and Justin Herbert. It’s not like as if he’s going up against rookies on a weekly basis."

I have to think that yardage total is going to drop if for no other reason than opposing quarterbacks are going to stop throwing at him

Play him. Every game counts. Tomorrow's outcome could impact playoff seeding in a couple of months; you never know. And having Diggs out there significantly improves Dallas' chances.

These stats are dumb.

And I'm sure a corner has given up more than 1100 yards before.

I agree on both counts. How soon we forget. Jacques Reeves ring any bells? But that’s not a fair comparison. The team’s chance if winning a game is what matters. Not since Deion have we seen his equal in that metric. Don’t care about anything else.

I've heard on the radio a bunch of times that he's usually covering the #1 WR, so if they quit throwing it his way, it's still a major win.

Would you let him play against New England or would you keep him out knowing a bye week is coming . I think we can beat the patriots without him. It’s going to be a dink and dunk run show by Belichick .
Who would you have starting if Diggs couldn't go?

Diggs is good to go from what he said earlier this week.

Is this a real question...the bye week is next week if he can play you let your best DB play

I doubt it's true. And even if it is, it says "on pace to". It's a five game body of work and everybody knows Diggs has been a shutdown corner.
Yeah but I don't think it's even close. I can only remember maybe one or two big plays he's given up.

I doubt he's even given up the most yards of all cowboy corners much less the whole league.

Where does he rank in yards giving up?
23rd. Anthony Brown has given up the most yards in the league though. The numbers are pretty scattered between NGS, PFF and PFR. PFF has him as a marginal starter so take that meme for what you will.

Diggs is leading the league in passer rating against. EPA against. PBU. INTs. There's a whole industry around tearing down Cowboys though.

I swear I watch the games. All of them. Maybe I have on rose colored glasses but I’m not seeing all these plays where he’s giving up these yards.

Are they including plays where we’re in zone and he’s “the nearest defender”?

Yes.

interceptions will be hit or miss
Giving up yards is about discipline and study
If he wants to be known as an all time great CB he will need to do those things

the hope is that he’s doing that. He’s pretty new to the position so there most definitely is room there to improve with experience and study.

If he's the best option, then he needs to play. If he can play, I doubt he even wants to sit out.

Remember when he was drafted and we had rumors that he wasn't coming along as fast as they expected? That was an early report. How about now?

The idea of starting Brown, Lewis and Canady pretty much answers that for me. I think Diggs on crutches is still our best CB

You don’t understand how bad is injury is. So yes it’s a legitimate question. I say let him play. But I’m not a doctor
