Oh yeah it is. Someone did that this offseason posting Lamb's I think yards per catch in college and they listed guys like Jerry Rice as if these were the best in college when they weren't. Did it prop up Lamb which is not necessary because Lamb is great regardless.
I remember that.

Trevon Diggs has now played 18 games in the NFL. (12 last year since he missed 4 with a foot injury, and now 6 this year) He has surpassed some big names in NFL history for interceptions after their first 18 games. For example:
  • Rod Woodson had 4
  • Charles Woodson- 5
  • Deion Sanders- 6
  • Richard Sherman- 6
  • Champ Bailey- 7
  • Trevon Diggs- 10
Impressive.

He's still at that level where he might give up some yards, but he might pick it off too, so QBs will still test him because he's not a complete "shut down" type of guy just yet. So he will continue to have opportunities. They will get less and less, but they will be there.

It's going to be fun watching his career.

I will go out on a limb and say he's one of the best defenders the team has seen in the past 25 years. HOWEVER........ that 75 yard TD pass was horrid - this kind of stuff HAS to be cleaned up. With all the good he is doing so far you can't have those kind of bad plays. You don't want to see bad undoing all of the good.

For me it’s still too early to declare Diggs better than Ware, although he could certainly get there at some point. Diggs is still just 24 years old and is still developing. Great corners- even HOFer- take some time to bake in the oven. Which is another reason I want to give Kelvin Joseph some time to develop.

That was a mental mistake by Diggs and Kazee. I blame Kazee more for that though.

It was a bad decision by Mac Jones because that pass is picked off 90% of time it's thrown. It just so happened that nobody at all knows what Kazee was trying to do. He should have had one of the easiest INTs he'll ever have, but he instead gave up a 75 yard TD. 9 times out of 10 that ball is picked off.

I agree with the bold.... that's why I was careful in the wording. He's among the best the team has seen the past 25 years, but clearly not THE best. D. Ware and Roy 'Horse collar' Williams were also among the best. D. Ware might be at the top of the list - best since Charles Haley.

Totally agree. Diggs manned up and took responsibility, though. Dude is a good team player and an outstanding athlete. Like you said above, if he can stay at this level it is going to be fun watching him play throughout his career.

I am not sure I would not rather have someone like Diggs who gets a lot of picks or someone who just shuts down one side of the field and the QB never looks his way. Turnovers are huge momentum shifts. If he gets beat now and then so be it if he comes up with this many picks.

I still say he had that 75 yard passed defensed if not for Kazee. He had closed the gap and was going to make a play and Kazee screwed the pooch.

That wasn’t horrid by Diggs. I don’t know what the hell Kazee was doing on that play maybe he expected a better pass?

Yeah to me it was no different than what he did last week against the Giants. He was gonna close in on that pass and maybe he gets the pick maybe he doesn’t but he was just getting into his next gear when Kazee came flying across the field.
