Watching sounds from the sidelines and player interviews plus obviously the play on the field…one thing is apparent…this group of players is different than what we’ve had in the past. This group is a bunch of fighter…dogs like we haven’t had since the 90s. You can see they just don’t believe they can be beaten. Parsons, Gregory, Diggs, Kearse…they are alpha dogs
Dak, Lamb, Zeke…also…Lamb is pretty certain no one can cover him and he plays like it.
This team has swagger like I haven’t seen in over 20 years. Gonna be fun….

I give McCarthy a lot of credit for managing this squad as winners. They have so much explosiveness
than when Clapper was in charge. Coach MM has chemistry with his players. It's very noticable.

How do you know it's a "sir"?!
Team isn’t soft that’s for sure. None of this Hotboyz nonsense either. They are focused.
No Dlaw. No Hotboyz nonsense.

We’ll find out if this team is different once we get to January. I’m not about to get sucked in after only 6 games. We’ll start getting a pretty good idea by December if this team has what it takes to have a real shot in the playoffs. I’m a long way from being convinced with 11 games left. I want to see as the season goes on if complacency starts setting in or if we can remain being focused like a team that’s on a mission.

I've read here from many people that we shouldn't get too excited because we seen this before back in 2016, 2014, 2009 and 2007. They want us to pipe down for now and have no fun, but when we win the Super Bowl, THEN we can break out our Pom-Poms and cheer them on. But not one game sooner because like they said, "We've seen this before." They want us to celebrate that ONE win only and none that came along the way. So piped down before the realists here sees this thread.

Psst... I agree with 100 percent. Shh!

One real concern I have is if we wrap up the division early with about 3 to 4 games left in the season. We could wrap up the division real early if we keep winning and the rest of the teams in our division keep losing. That could cause the team to let up the rest of the season looking ahead to the playoffs. That could lead to sloppy play and us limping into the playoffs. The problem with some of the good teams we’ve had the past couple of decades was they weren’t able to maintain their focus the entire regular season. This led to us not playing our best football entering the playoffs. We just have to hope that the success we’ve had doesn’t cause a team to start feeling too good about themselves. Complacency could do us in.

Diggs is having a heck of a season so far. Amari Cooper is the best route runner in the NFL. Connor Williams needs to be benched.
Everything else is in the jury's hands.

I'm thrilled with this team so far and thoroughly enjoying the ride (I feel like I have to say that or I'll be labeled a hater), but if I had a nickel for every time this exact sentiment was posted in 2018, and 2016, and 2014, and 2011, and 2009, well, I wouldn't be posting here because I'd be too busy owning my own NFL team. Basically every time the team goes on a winning streak, we get the run of "this team is different" posts.

Judging from your avatar pic I think you've been a fan longer. I became a fan in 1975 when I realized football can be exciting after my dad threw my little rocking chair against the wall after Staubach threw his 3rd pick to seal the victory for the Steelers in the 1975 SB. I have been through heartaches too. But I won't let past struggles hinder my outlook for THIS season. IT makes no sense to me to start having fun once we beat a good team in the playoffs. I want to have fun along the way because we deserve it. It's obvious this is a different era.

if your only criteria is in a vacuum, then sure, but it's easy to see that they're a different bunch. i too hope it translates into sustained success, but i've seen enough of them to be able to tell the difference.

It looked like a different bunch in 2016 when we rattled off a franchise record 11 straight wins with a rookie QB. That team looked like it was going to be pretty special beating Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau and Ben Roethlisberger on the road. We’ll find out if this is a different bunch come Dec/January.
