My purpose is not to dis on Jaylon. It’s to commend the front office for having the wisdom to take the BPA and move on from a guy they had a lot of money sunk into
Not sure about the wisdom thing. Would we have taken Parsons over one of the CB's? He was easily BPA over both.

In order for a QB to throw the ball to his right side his feet have to be pointed towards the right. Cornerbacks always look into the back field so they can gauge the dept of a QB's drop back. And as we all know the deeper the drop the longer the pass. So as a linebacker, who's closer to the line of scrimmage, these guys can look at the QB's drop back and which way his feet are pointing at the same time. But the really good linebackers can also gauge how far a QB's feet are spread apart. Which tells the linebacker exactly which guy he's about to throw the ball too.

So a QB has to telegraph his throws before he makes his throws. And a good linebacker can read his body language and make a break on the ball even before the QB throws the ball.

Parsons is a good one.

Ironically there were folks on draft day that were actually comparing Micah Parsons to Jaylon Smith.
Even suggesting that could've been a reason why he eventually fell in the NFL draft ..to Cowboys slot.
Despite being an incredible blend of size- speed.

- More irony ? Jerry has publicly insisted that Cowboys had pegged Parsons as the best defensive player in the NFL draft.
Yet they reportedly coveted and prepared to take CBs Jaycee Horn or Patrick Surtain Jr. instead of Parsons. And then dared to
move down further per trade, further risking Parson getting swiped by another NFL team.

- i don't think he's not quite Von Miller but definitely more an generational athletic freak.
He's naturally fast and explosive and he plays like it on the field. I've seen some here wanting him at OLB edge ala TJ Watts.
But i'm one that thinks and prefers him in the middle LB who can be best schemed in a various roles, spots where he is going forward
or laterally.

The reason why he fell was because this was a deep QB class and weak defenses thought that having a corner was more important than having the best linebacker in all of football.

Dallas too would have taken a corner which would have been the wrong thing to do. Luckily he fell into our lap.

Parsons won me when I saw he plays chess. He's got a lot more between his ears than Jaylon does and in the end that's the most important thing.

Yes he does, and a 6'3" chess lover at linebacker with 4.38 speed gets my full attention.

Bill Parcells admits that Lawrence Taylor saw things on the football field that he didn't.

Parsons is physically and intellectually a born superstar football player.

Jaylon was inactive this past Thursday. A healthy scratch
That dude hasn't been healthy since his injury in college, that was his main problem. He's worked around the limitations his injury has caused, imo they include drop foot, not wanting to take on guards, waiting for the runner to get to him and guessing on plays.
