It’s incredible. Punt blocks left and right. Interceptions galore. What is this? The 90s again ?

idk but i'm getting that feeling that i have not gotten probably since the 90's. These are the types of plays that i remember seeing with our championship teams. This was a statement game, after an embarrassing loss.

This team feels different. Different from the 07, 14 and 16 team. And by different I mean a team that I would bet on to make it all the way. A team that will cause that much needed fumble, get that crucial INT, to get that punt blocked that changes the course of the game. Very exciting!

Jason Garrett didn't believe in blocking punts.

It was too confrontational.

When u have a deep roster, u normally have great special teams.

This is looking like a great roster from too to bottom. Kudos to the organization for building this team the way they have (finally)

MM is the complete opposite of Garrett run teams, very aggressive in every phase of the game.

As a HC you have to know when to be aggressive, and when to play field position smarter... i.e. i think it's just too high risk and crazy to be going for it on 4th and one
on the road, from our own 30 yd (ala vs NE Pats) ..

. but such as ATL, i have no problem going for 4th downs with Dak and offense, at/ in ATL territory ... vs a new, unproven FG kicker.

MM is gonna have his occasional suspect game managing decisions, but i don't think he will stubbornly be so set as we will be and do what we do best mentality.

- But Garrett was one of the very worst at half time or in-game adjustments.
they'd pick a game plan and stay with it thru an entire game, no matter what the
opposing team was already doing, ..or counter-acting against Cowboys game plan.

- Taking delay of game flags when you have the neccessary timeouts at hand.

- Had more of a conservative nature On The Road.

- MM is also lucky to have such top asst. at hand and his best moves is delegating authority to
those asst, and trusting them to work thru the problems (ala OL, defense, offense, special teams)

- Did i understand that NFL decided not to rule Malik Turner's punt block,..as not an official block ?
Whatever for what NFL want to call it ... as we all know it was a blocked punt.

- Not only is it players performance, but i tend to wonder what is it tactic and scheme wise that Bones is implementing that
is making it (punt blocks) work so successfully.

- If we can keep Bones Fassel from the ill-timed bone-headed, high gambling killer plays. And have more focused on
sound discipline fundamentals, and decisions, then i think we've found something.

- The FG kicking situation still needs to be resolved, as Greg Z continues to be so up and down,
and i'm just not a fan of Lamb's his role as a punt returner. But that has to be offseason change and upgrade.
But also kudos to Bones, for insisting on acquiring punter Bryan Anger who continues to be a whale of a field position punter.

We still have a few areas to iron out on ST's, but they were dead last in the league when he was hired, believe they finished 10th last yr. He has made a major impact. Agree, don't like Lamb as a punt returner, but he is starting to make plays in that role, same can be said about Pollard at a KR. Kicking around the league is so inconsistent, it's hard to find a great kicker.

Agree, aggressiveness is good near the 50, but terrible in your own end.

I understand the criticisms of Bones and but Special Teams hasn’t impacted a game here since Dwayne Harris; and he’s got guys making plays.

Best special teams coach we've had in a long, long time. You don't block three punts by accident.

Of course.. another coaching hire/failure was the club elevating Keith 'O Quinn to special teams coach.

He was never an established, proven vet coach but this organization was so hell bent on committing to their inside good boys .
. ala Marinelli,Quinn and LB coach Ben Bloom (whose no longer coaching in NFL i believe) despite the poor results.

Fassell is one of the best in the league, thought at the time was a huge get.

I can’t believe that I actually get excited to watch the other team punt. First I’m excited to see if we block the punt and if we don’t, then I’m excited to watch Lamb return the punt. All the excitement makes me have to pee so I’m glad they have commercial breaks after most punts…..

I love aggression on special teams I watched it when Jimmy was here and Coach A. Johnson said there are 3 phases of the game and when you can win 2 out of 3 of those phases the odds of winning go up.

I don't think they "decided" it was, it's the rule I think. Whether you get a finger on the ball and it travels 50 or a full-on palm on the ball and it travels 1, if it gets past the LOS it counts as a punt.

No, they only blocked two punts. The one against Denver was a muffed punt since the kicker got it past the LOS where the Cowboys touched it and Denver recovered it. ;)
It was blocked and crossed the line of scrimmage....anyone with a working set of eyes saw that it was blocked.

A rule that is likely to change in the offseason per Stephen and the rule committee board. ..but as it is now ....

- At the same time, i had wondered if Bones was so unique and valuable, why would the Rams allow him to walk. ?
now I think i know why. Apparently that river boat gambling act and aggressiveness was just too much for the Rams.

- No doubt in my mind, that someone or some inside force here - per HC or management- was able to get to Bones' head and attention, and we haven't seen
his exotic antics and decision making. And it's made him a better special teams coach, and it's made us a better special teams unit.
And it's contributed heavily to some wins.

And people say it's all about talent.
Same core players in past years couldn't sniff an interception if you laced the ball with perfume, and now they're taking the ball away like trick er treaters raiding an unguarded candy jar.
And that, my friends, is what coaching can do for you.

Yesterday I said it feels like we haven’t blocked a punt in 10 years, I guess I was almost right - we blocked 1 and it’s probably because the punter dropped the ball or his shoelaces were tied together lol
