The fact that the Cowboys have been trying to replace Woodson since the day he retired but have never found any one player who could do all of the things he did more than shows how valuable he was to those 90s teams.

It is inexcusable that he has not already been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Ken Hamlin for like 6 games was the closest we got

If John Lynch is in explain to me how Darren Woodson isn’t.

“Well ya see… Woodson benefitted from Troy, who benefitted from Irvin, who benefitted from Emmitt, who benefitted from the OL, who benefitted from the DL, who benefitted from the LBs, who benefitted from Deion that one season, who benefitted from Woodson, who benefitted from Troy, who benefitted from Emmitt, and honestly I just hate the Cowboys”

It's the Troy Polamalu, Clay Matthews, and John Lynch phenomenon.
If you have a physical characteristic that makes you stand out from the other players around you (long hair, color, etc)........it causes above average players to get noticed more often and then the public thinks they are even better than they truly are.

Woodson is absolutely deserving. He was so good and so versatile that the Cowboys could play their base defense, and still be able to go man in a 3 WR set, as he was the Cowboys' slot corner in the nickel. Excellent tackler, excellent blitzer, tone setter as a hitter.

But, IMO, he will not get in. The reason being that the same people who vote for the enshrinement of the players for the HOF also vote for the All-Decade Teams. In the 1990s, Woodson should have made the team as a safety. Instead, they selected Ronnie Lott, who was a shell of his former self, and was done playing following the 1994 season. I think this will end up keeping him out.

Palamalu 100% deserves the HOF. He is much more than just an above average player and head and shoulders (ha) better historically than Woodson or Lynch.

Chuck Howley remains the capital crime that the HOF has committed by not voting him in.

When Lott was voted in the 90's all decade team I was pissed; he had not been a top player for ANY Of the 90's.

No problem for Ware to get in......Woodson will continue to just knock on the door, should have been in already. Shame, shame, shame....
