Lol I get Devin Hester was a great returner, but should he really get in just being a return specialist?

I love Ware, but it would be a crime if he gets in before Woody.

100% and I think he will unfortunately.

I'm convinced if Woodson would have been brash and a self promoter he'd be in already but he just quietly went about doing his job to an all decade level. The most versatile defender we've had here. Safety? Check. Linebacker? Check. Slot corner? Check. Special teams? Check.

He gets overshadowed by all the great players from those teams with much bigger personalities.

The strange and stupid thing is, I'm pretty sure everyone knows how great he was. From the coaches around the league, the writers, and certainly every player who ever played with or against him. I don't know whose wife he slept with, but that guy needs to get over it.

It's the Troy Polamalu, Clay Matthews, and John Lynch phenomenon.
If you have a physical characteristic that makes you stand out from the other players around you (long hair, color, etc)........it causes above average players to get noticed more often and then the public thinks they are even better than they truly are.
Nice! I knew there was a reason for my success and it couldn't have been talent

Trivia question: Has anyone ever gone to the HOF yet on return duties alone? I honestly don't know the answer. None that I can think of. Deion was a badarse punt returner along with a few other speedsters, but they weren't return duty alone.

But it's one of those things just different about the game and maybe will see someone like Hester go in. NFL Network is going gaga over all the great receivers, and who to pick. Well, they're a dime a dozen now.
