Prescott or Parsons. If you could keep just one, who would you keep and why?

Just think of all the better defensive players you could have for $40 million.

I'm actually on the fence about this, because Dak seems to have lost his edge since the injury. Unless he starts showing signs of returning to form, I'm on the Parsons train to Winville. (I know, I know. I'm just using hyperbole.)

You can’t win with just defense and an average QB these days. The rules have all been bent to favor the offense. Look at some of the players the Rams have added to their defense the past few years and they’re struggling because of their QB play. Stafford hasn’t played well lately and they’re losing games. A QB has to do more than just manage games these days. They have to be efficient and productive. We’ve been struggling the past five weeks despite Parsons great play because our offense has struggled. The root of the problem has been our OL. Tyron’s health and the lack of continuity upfront. It’s affected our pass protection and run blocking. I wouldn’t pick Lawrence Taylor over Tom Brady, Joe Montana or any elite QB. We held the Chiefs to 19 points but we lost because we couldn’t get anything going on offense.

I'll let you know at the end of the 2022 season.

After all, you never set a deadline in your original post.

Anyone who follows football should know that no player on a team influences the outcome of games more than a QB. There’s a reason they’re the number one overall pick in most drafts.

You're right, and deep down I know that unless we can find a very good QB to replace him, Dak would have to be the choice. It's just that, like so many others in this thread, I'm extremely happy to have Parsons on this team. His play alone makes the defense probably 50% better than it would otherwise be.

So while I actually am torn on the subject, if it came down to my vote, I'd have to keep Dak and hope he returns to pre-injury form.

Parsons hasn’t been perfect he’s had some issues against the run this season. Derek Carr slipped away from him on what should have been a sack. Taysom Hill also avoided a sack last night and he ran away from Parsons on one play. The Cowboys have Parsons headhunting the QB and it’s caused some of our issues against the run.

You must keep one and lose one.

Which one do you keep, which one do you sacrifice to another team, say an AFC team... and get nothing in return. And why?
This is by far the dumbest post this month...

There are hypotheticals, then there hypotheticals and then it's dumbness

Hey which Looney Tunes cartoon character do you sacrifice to Disney and get nothing in return, Elmer Fudd or Porky Pig?

I would take Parsons and then trade for Taysom Hill since you guys think you can plug anyone in at QB and win. Or bring Dalton back since this board thinks he is awesome.

its a easy question, Micah Parsons, why? Parsons its a Elite Player, he is a player who makes a difference, who has a lot of future and can still improve, he is the new image of the cowboys indisputably, Dak can be replaceable, another better QB can be found in the draft, another player like Micah very difficult to replace and find another player who is similar, Dak is a Meh
It's amazing how many fans here don't remember what it was like between Aikman and Romo.
It was not pretty and no decent qbs don't grow on trees.

I won’t insult you, but anyone who thinks we’d win more games with Cooper Rush and Parsons than with Dak minus Parsons is a football idiot.

Parsons is going to be better at what he does than Dak will be at what he does, IMO. However, that means nothing. The QB position and having an above average starter there is more important than having the best defensive player in the NFL when it comes to actually winning games.
It’s not a question of winning games but getting to the SB. Dak will never be in a SB as the starter. Mark it.

Dak isn't elite by a long shot. Players like Parsons get average QBs Super Bowl rings. Unless we have a Brady,Mahomes or a Rodgers we MUST have a great defense. It all starts there. You put a rookie Mac Jones on this team and we still have the same record.
Nailed it!
