Lol yup. Including me , the offense line has taking a hit and for some reason we can’t run anymore. Williams is a penalty machine but does play well, I thought myself Mcgovern was gonna take this line to another level.
Just connect electric shockers to his wrapped hands and shock the hades out of him when he holds someone!

Who cares.. Dude is not any better than McGovern and he comes with a mountain of penalties.

He’s also a free agent and I think Dallas isn’t going to pay so that’s another reason McGovern is on the field.

The real question is will they move Collins to guard. That is a move that has high upside for our Line.

This video, from one of the only Cowboys YouTubers I trust with topics including film study , that can help answer questions about Big Connor vs Little Connor.

Can't watch until this evening, can you provide brief summary?

My POV is that Collins has to be significantly better at this point. McGovern is the pencilled starter next season because while Williams WILL get paid to start somewhere, it will not be with the Cowboys.

I'm only half way in, but basically he says CW is way better than McGovern. Says he shows up better on the film next day than the live broadcast shows. Tends to struggle with better DTs in the league, but so do most. Referenced going against Javon Hargraves where he mostly won his matchups but ended up with a couple bad plays and a holding call.

McGovern is the stronger player, but that's just one aspect of playing OL - compared him to John Ross as a receiver. Says he really likes McGovern, but seems like he thinks he is still developing

Says CW is much better than McGovern on Reach block, pulling, 2nd/3rd level blocking, pass blocking/setting, combo blocks, etc

Says McGovern struggled with blocking LBs, struggles to help get the DT in a shade over the Center, when the C needs to get to the next level.

Had to stop listening, but he was just starting to get into Lael Collins at the 12 minute mark.

This guy seems to know what he is talking about at least on a better than average level. If I had to guess I would say he played at least at the college level.

Thank you for your service.

Sounds like we need to find a way to put Williams' technical and mental side into McGovern's body.

Seems like he is saying 2 things. One is don't believe what you see on TV because Connor Williams is not as bad as he looks. Don't believe you lying eyes.

The other thing he is saying is, sure Connor Williams get beat a few times a game by the better DTs but that doesn't make him bad!! And It's better that he holds than lets Dak get killed.

I think the call to start McGovern was more wishing he was better than Connor Williams. We wouldn't know unless we tried. Now we know McGovern is not really the answer. But neither is Connor Williams.

Finally, he acknowledges Williams has more experience and that makes him better. But then isn't the argument that McGovern will get better with experience? And when he learns the position he will be better than Williams.

btw, I agree with him about La'el Collins. He had a good game against the Saints. He is working his way back into the player he was in the past.

Williams is better and I wouldn’t have changed
But MCGovern is the future so at this point I’d just stick with him
Once you went down that road I think you have to stay the course because you have to know if you have a LG or need a LG

This sounds sensible to me. If Williams is not going to be here, let's see if McGovern can do the trick or if we might need to go hunting in the draft or FA.

I agree
MCGovern is the most likely candidate to step in next year. Since he’s already there I think you stay the course and see if he is the guy or if you have to look at other options next year
