I will say this. There is an overall sense of urgency to that Cardinal group in that clip that I just did not see from our team. Rewatch our clip and keep your eye on Noah Brown. You'd never know the season was hanging in the balance.

The bigger issue was, as McCarthy said, Dak needed to go down quicker. He extended the run far too long. Big Mike even said the goal was to get to the 30.

The even bigger issue was our complete offensive incompetence the rest of the game, and our repeated blown opportunities in the fourth quarter leading up to the wing-and-a-prayer final 30 seconds.

Maybe Dak could have ran towards the sidelines.. I doubt it would have mattered. Needed to score opening drive of 3rd quarter..

If we threw a bombs earlier we had a good chance of holding or PI. When it gets to that late in the game we had little shot. Did we take any shots during that game..

It was a dumb call, but thanks for playing. 31 other teams would have gone end zone until there's zeroes on the clock.

You either play for the short out if the sidelines are open and pick up a few yards and burn 4-5 seconds while still getting two tosses to the end zone or did what we did. I'd take the former every time.

That's correct but if the umpire has to touch the ball yet your players are in the way and time is about to run out....you blow your shot. Not only that but because the center placed the ball in the spot the umpire had to re-spot it.

MM is right, but that’s not really even the point.

One throw from the 20-25 vs two throws from the 40. The odds of the latter are almost non existent, the odds of the former are decent. You take the chance for one play where your QB can place the ball anywhere in the endzone he wants it.

Every single week teams win games on the last play they had no business winning. The fact that Dallas got outplayed means the rules should be ignored on the last play?

Fitzgerald ran and handed the ball to his center…..WHO THEN handed it to the ref to spot.

MM should get fired for defending that play. Would much prefer him to come out and say.. we stuffed up BUT the problem wasn't the last 2 seconds.. the problem was we got beaten all game. The problem was the drive before when we had a golden opportunity to win and we botched it.. the problem was our offence failed to get a first down until the 2nd quarter.. the problem was our QB can't hit the side of a barn from 2 yards away.. the problem is our defence was never recruited and paid to keep teams until 16 points.. our team was designed to rely on its offence.. to control TOP and score enough to cover the weaknesses on defence.. the problem is that our offence is a sham..

So sick of talking about the last seconds.. no suggestion that Dak would have found an open receiver in the endzone anyway.

This game was lost well before those last 14 seconds.

The final play being such a bad call.. such a laughably bad call.. is just poetic justice for one of the worst playoff games I've witnessed.. which given our recent history.. is saying a lot.

Focus on asking why the offense failed to get in a groove since the calf injury rather than 14 seconds of a last minute ditch to save the Titanic.

So forget the other 99% of the game because we couldn't line up and throw a 5% chance of winning pass? Gotcha.

That last play wasn't going to work because they were littered with mistakes all game, and guess how the game ended? In a mistake.

I vote we change the threshold to 20 seconds. 13 seconds is a joke!
