If Dak can read defenses, how is he putting up elite stats?

Yeah the Dak can’t read defense thing is silly. If his coaches suck and he can’t read defenses then how in the world is he still in the league??

I don’t think it’s that he can’t read defenses. I think however he struggles between being to conservative and aggressive. Sometimes he’s just too conservative in games and won’t take chances.

I for the life of me don’t understand why he won’t use his legs anymore either. Even if it’s just to pick up a first down or two. Keep the d honest

Opposing defenses have found that Dak is much less adept at identifying coverages when they don't show a look, stack the LOS and drop guys back at the snap. It limits his pre-snap read forcing him to run his progression after the snap.

This. Watch the San Fran game, they would stack the line, look like a blitz, then drop players out. I assume it is confusing Dak, and what we will see more and more teams use against us, until we create a solution.

Jared Goff couldn’t read defenses and went to a Super Bowl and is still on a team. Reading complex defenses isn’t necessarily a requirement to be an NFL QB. Dak can only handle simple coverages. Anything more than that and he panics, takes sacks, etc. what a great QB we have

Stats only tell half the story. Some argued that Jaylon Smith was a good player based on his stats. He was actually garbage.

Dak was not very good after week 6, but keep hanging on to those stats. They really got us far.

Oh, and Dez even tweeted about it but I'm sure you know more than Dez also.

They have been doing it since the Denver game. Apparently, McCarthy and Moore perform zero self scouting.

Is his natural quarterback ability that good?

We play a LOT of the worst teams in the NFL and he feasts on them. Dak owns the NFC EAST. He put up 17 of his 37 TD passes in 6 NFC East games....... But go look at what he did against playoff bound teams. Outside of Philly, he was 1-5 against playoff teams.

Most people should understand that Dak's criticism is mostly next-level type criticism. When guys like Warner are showing how these systems are supposed to be run, he's an elite guy. He's showing you what elite looks like.

All QBs miss reads, get pressured, etc. Being able to overcome those issues requires knowing the details and taking the next step.

If you actually watch the games, you can tell Dak struggles when teams play their base defense but as soon as we get 3 scores down and the defense starts playing soft, Dak turns into Mahomes.

No way around it.

I never understood why teams do that but I guess they don't care about stats and will gladly give up the yards in exchange for game clock.

He does it against weaker teams and......he has an OC that insists on passing more and running less.

Weaker teams like the playoff Pats that he passed for 445 against or the playoff Raiders whom he had 375. Yes not every game against a playoff team was great, but that is true for most QBs. Mahomes had some pretty bad games this season against good teams but some pretty great ones as well.

He turns into Mahomes cause he has nothing to lose and defenses loosen up. He plays like a scaredy cat 99% of the time, hence why we lose in many games. Zeke sucking, O-line sucking, OC sucking, and penalties don’t help of course, but blame cannot be taken away.

Dak is like a fat kid in an all you can eat buffet in those situations lol

So many wide open checkdowns, so little time!

I wonder if that wishes he had taken less money? You know not as much pressure would be on him and the team could have signed or retained better players.

Nope, he insisted on the maximum. And this is what we're getting. Another early playoff exit and a lot of ugly games after week 6 when teams figured him out.

Hey but those stats though...
