If Dak can read defenses, how is he putting up elite stats?

Soft NFCE
Pass happy coordinator
One of the best receiving corps
Above average OL. People act like it's trash tier however no website matrix has the cowboys outside top 10. That's how bad most OL are for other quarterbacks

Perhaps playing this division has a lot to do with it. Or the Falcons. Doesn’t do it vs good teams is the problem.

His problem is simple. He's conservative by nature which won't work. Look at Mahomes and Allen.

He gets stats because he’s a decent QB, but better teams know how to counter his weaknesses.

And we can’t counter those teams because our OL/run game isn’t good enough to make defenses gameplan for a double threat offense. Instead, they load up and force Dak to beat them - which he can’t in the postseason. 17 points might be enough to beat teams like the Titans, but not SF lol.

Dak is just too inconsistent. He is a prisoner of his own confidence level.

If he’s confident, he’s great. If he starts questioning things, he’s mediocre or bad. And the problem is that he questions things way too much. You can literally see it on the field at times

Opposing defenses have found that Dak is much less adept at identifying coverages when they don't show a look, stack the LOS and drop guys back at the snap. It limits his pre-snap read forcing him to run his progression after the snap.
makes sense

I wonder if that wishes he had taken less money? You know not as much pressure would be on him and the team could have signed or retained better players.

Nope, he insisted on the maximum. And this is what we're getting. Another early playoff exit and a lot of ugly games after week 6 when teams figured him out.

Hey but those stats though...
if cowboys lose again next year i wonder if the media will turn on him like rodgers who they’re trying to run out of town right mow

I highly doubt it. Look at how the media treats Lamar jackson. It's like he's better than Tom brady.

He beats up on bad teams and he gets stats against good teams once the game is out of reach

He has a magic eight ball to help him. What kind of question is this? Of course he can read defenses.

Most QBs get confused at times but some can escape the pocket and play backyard ball better than others when the rush gets to them.

He cannot throw receivers open; nor can he anticipate route breaks on a consistent basis.
