I have argued for years on this forum and elsewhere that football is the ultimate team game.

Time and Time again, "internet experts" keep telling me "it's the QB... it's the QB"

Can you "eXpErTs" explain to me how this can be true when the exact same QB in Matt Stafford that "couldn't win a playoff game" is now in the Super Bowl? Could it be that his TEAM is in the Super Bowl and he didn't have that level of TEAM when in Detroit?

How are Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes sitting at home? Could it be that their TEAMS didn't play well enough to win?

Dak is more than capable of going to and winning the super bowl. But HE and the TEAM have to put it all together.

Exactly... I remember reading a couple of posts here from a few "genius wanna be" uninformed folks who claimed if we had Rodgers, Wilson or Brady, we would beat the 49ers, we would be in the championship game, we would win the Superbowl, etc.

Rodgers loss to the same 49ers team Dak loss to, Brady got sent home, and Wilson hasn't done anything significant without the Legion of Boom.

But according to the "knowledgeable" logic of a few "know it alls", I guess that means Jimmy G is better than the other quarterbacks I've just mentioned...

No they can't. All of the sudden Stafford is clutch. The same people were dead quiet when he was 0-3 in the play

Just looking at the Bengals offense that might not be a bad deal. Those WRs are really good and Mixon is much better than Zeke at this point. The line needs a couple pieces, but SO DOES OURS, unless you buy the PFF nonsense. Not as familiar with the defense, but they were pretty good this year. Clearly they are a better coached team. They are probably a lot closer than perception.

I knew that Stafford was 0-3 and still wished that we went after him years ago....watching his ability to make different throws, arm strength, and progression ability as compared to Dak is like night and day.

Yea... so the 'hater' word kinda looses its meaning when 90% of the board agrees Dak suks.

Yeah, but 60% of those haters hide like cowards when Dak plays well and win. So those Dak hatin cowards were only able to come out 6 times this year.

The better question is, why do those haters hide until the next available loss. Where were they during the wins???

QUICK...

who here can explain why the greatest qb's in the league (Mahomes, Rodgers, Allen, Herbert etc) are all sitting home with Dak this week?

These RIDICULOUS brainless arguments about other teams' progression in the playoffs are just exhausting.

Well he has been sitting at home longer than Mahomes and Rodgers and Allen.

so its not Taylor Heinicke its the horrible organization and team thats holding him back? you have to use brain power along with your eyes and common sense to evaluate a QB. brain tells me that a QB who hasnt learned how read defenses in 6 seasons isnt going all the sudden change. eyes tell me that our QB lacks arm talent and now lost the trait that somewhat made up for it, his legs. Common sense tells me that you cant pay an average/bus driver QB elite money and expect different results.

FIXED*

*without major injury

Jerry Jones will double down in 2024
A decade ago I would have agreed with you. The NFL has changed though, and Dak has to perform. Brady leaves New England, Eagles dumped Wentz, the Rams were able to dump Goffs contract, the Lions moved on from Stafford with ease. Now you hear Rogers and Wilson may be on the move. It's not hard any more to move QBs and teams are showing a willingness to do so. I'd love to see Dak stick around and win a super bowl, but my gut tells me he is on a short leash. If 2022 was a repeat performance of 2021 you almost have to look at your options.

Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford traded places, and won-loss records.

"bUt iTz aLl aBoUt tHe qB."
Youre better than this

Goff beat the bad QB we have here and the only reason they defeated the Saints was due to a horrific non-call in the Championship game. They scored only 3 points in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Stafford beat Kyler Murray, outplayed Tom Brady on his field, and beat the team Dak couldnt.

So yea, try again

It’s the difference between the Goff Rams last year and the Stafford Rams this year. The difference between the Winston Bucs and the Brady Bucs. Tebow Broncos and Manning Broncos. When Alex Smith joined the Teamers. When the Ravens moved from Flacco to Lamar Jackson. When the Pats chose Mac Jones over another year of Cam Newton.

It’s a team sport, yes, but the QB’s influence is dramatic.
It doesn’t matter how good the team is if you don’t have a QB.

It doesn’t matter how good the QB is if that’s all you have.

No, it's even more true. More haters who don't get it on this board. Guaranteed it's different with Cowboys Nation worldwide. Plus, the Cowboys organization, coaches and players disagree with y'all.

Ignorant post.

Joe Flacco led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in 2012 and was named SB MVP.

Lamar Jackson hasn't even helped the Ravens reach a Super Bowl.

Wasn’t me. How many bricks you want to toss up?

Stafford going to solve 14 penalties?? Lolol. What a stupid comment. Par for the course.
That poster lies BIG TIME and spews a lot of false accusations.

Dak plays “well” against crappy teams in the regular season. No “hater” goes into hiding because of that; I assure you.

Jamarr is better than all of our guys but Higgins and Boyd are no better than Ceedee and Gallup. Mixon is better than Zeke but we also have Pollard.

OL? Who do they have remotely close to Zack Martin or Tyron Smith?

No one compares to Martin or Smith (when Smith is actually healthy.) Mixon is better than the Zeke/Pollard combo, in large because our coaches have no clue how to manage them. My point was that team is a lot closer in talent to our team than many would admit.

How familiar are you with their defense? The dline played pretty well. I think they got 12 or 13 sacks from the DTs. The have an end who had 14 and another with 7. Obviously they are a good team and it's not only the qb making plays.

Yeah, but you're going back a decade to make a point. Flacco 2012 was prime Flacco. Since that super bowl he was pretty hot and cold then eventually became a game manager and now a backup. Brady, Rogers, etc have changed the narrative a bit, but you can count on every QB to play at a high level into their mid 30s. Lamar hasnt done much since taking over, but that last year of Flacco its clear Jackson was a bit of a shot in the arm to that team.
