Dallas versus the West

The West divisions of each conference made strong cases for being the toughest, deepest divisions. Five of their 8 teams made the playoffs. Three of the final four teams playing were West teams. West teams are 7-2 in these playoffs against non-West teams - the two non-West losses being to Cincinnati.

How did Dallas fare against West teams? The Cowboys went 1-5, including 0-4 at home. Dallas' other loss was to Tom Brady's Bucs. Dallas went 11-0 against everyone else. Who were they? NFC East teams, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, Minnesota, and New England. Two of those teams stumbled into the playoffs, Eagles and Patriots, and got blown out.

So 1-6 versus the two best divisions and Tom Brady. This is the team Jerry declared to be "Super Bowl or bust", which happens when your personnel guy can't objectively look at his own team. Me? I bet on the 49ers. Even after the Niners loss Jerry still couldn't believe what happened, despite having access to the info presented here.
I agree that we lost to the good teams because of several variables, most of which were totally our fault, but how would access to the info presented here made a difference? What great knowledge do we have that Jerry doesn’t? IMHO, he just has a different agenda than fans. Kinda like the people that run this country—they’re not stupid. They just don’t care what we want.

Jerry DOES want to win, but I don’t think it’s his #1 priority.

We don't but, at least, some of us don't wear Jerry's blinders. I put money on San Francisco, despite being a Cowboys fan for 50 years. Why did I do that? Because I hate the Cowboys? Nonsense. I root with my heart, but bet with my brain. The Arizona game was a red flag for me, and I bet accordingly. Turned out I was right.

Meanwhile, the GM of the Cowboys was shocked by the playoff outcome even though it was eerily similar to the Arizona game. He can't objectively evaluate his team. That's not a big deal if he's just a fan, but unfortunately he makes personnel decisions for the Cowboys. That's a big problem, and we've lived with the results for years.

Winning, and getting all of the credit for it, IS his priority. He's been obsessed with it since Jimmy left. It's the one thing he can't buy at any cost.

Most people knew SB XXX was won with Jimmy's leftovers, including Jerry. Jerry needs to win one his way and will go to his grave trying to do it.

Who’s wearing “Jerry Blinders”? We all know what his priorities are. My point is we don’t know more about football or about the insider details of the team. Jerry’s #1 priority isn’t the same as ours. On a personal note, I never bet on football. I like my money and want to keep it. Football’s tenuous and changeable. There are too many variables. While we haven’t done well against the better teams for quite awhile, there are still no guarantees. But that’s just me, so good luck in Vegas, my friend!

Yep! He wants to be viewed as a guru, most of all!

It boils down to this.....QB play matters. Ours is mentally fragile....and goes to pieces as soon as he is touched. Joe Burrows took 9 sacks vs Tennessee....and somehow managed to shake it off....and still got his team to the Super Bowl.
