At this point it’s Wagner or bust

Even if they sign Wagner, I’m not sure it fixes the abysmal offseason this team has had but at this point it feels like the only thing that could salvage it. It would be an instant upgrade over last year and would probably still leave room to sign another lb (LVE). This leaves the flexibility to move Parsons to DE where he’s an upgrade over Randy against the pass and run. They’ve still downgraded the offense by trading Cooper but this leaves the option to draft BPA at 24 (WR or OL) and potentially correct what they’ve destroyed.

If they don’t sign Wagner then I’ll assume they’ve moved on to ‘24 and McCarthy isn’t in the plans because the roster reeks of 2020 where they signed “has beens” and got zero production from the free agency class.. Haha-dix, McCoy, Poe, Worley, etc

Are we trading for Vikings Hunter? Let me know cause I’ve been on here refreshing every 15 seconds and I gotta go to bed so I can get up and make the bread.
lol.

Perhaps...i don't know much about him if he meets our criteria...young and cheap. lol

Edit: Just looked at him...he is too good and will require too much trade compensation lol

We've seen off seasons where we had some monster free agent signings. Did they ever matter?

This team is going to show up to the first round of the playoffs and bend right over, no matter if we have Von Miller or Bobby Wagner.

I hate it for us fans, but I hate it even more for Micah Parsons. If we're going to piss away another 26 years, I would rather he play for someone else.

After the circus this front office created with Gregory's agent I'm sure other agents are advising their clients to stay clear of the DFW area even if it's for a lay over on the way to Buffalo.

This is very possible. Hard to filter what’s true regarding the contract language but it may be a bigger issue going forward than we’ll know.

No way I'm steering my client towards Dallas at all, they're cheap, they lie, and they bad mouth players to the media when they no longer want them.

If your hopes are on Wagner, then it's bust. They will attempt to find the next Kearse or fill their holes with a few stopgap players so that they are not wedged into having to draft a particular position in the first round. But they will be looking to upgrade those positions in the draft.

I don't expect "has-been" signing because that didn't work out well in 2020. I expect more signings like last year,, vets who don't cost a lot but have some tread left or may have upside. The top-rated FA we signed last year (not our own) was Malik Hooker, who PFF had ranked 79, but we only signed him when he couldn't find any takers late in free agency. However, Keanu Neal was 83rd, so the best we can expect is maybe someone in that range. The next highest was Tarell Basham at 155. I expect signings more in that range.

It’s not happening. We haven’t brought in any big name LBs for the past 10-15 years. We’ll bargain bin shop for the likes of a Brooking or Sims, maybe a psycho like McClain.

We should’ve jump on Hicks but Stephen was too busy drinking Shirley Temples and scarfing down bear claws to know what week it was.

it would be a chance for the vikes to right the ship in the H. Walker trade years ago.

I used to joke about how all the has-beens signed their last big contracts with Washington to close out their careers with a huge payday. I never thought I'd feel that way about the Cowboys. If this team was a horse, I'd shoot it...

Wagner will cost too much money and we have too many needs. Honestly, we probably have to get 3-4 starters from the draft because we don't have starter money for FAs.

Wagner is definitely the best player available at a position of need so yeah would be one of the last splash signings the Cowboys could make.

If it's not Wagner there are some good players out there along the ol, wr, dl interior, lbs, and dbs that could help upgrade spots. The focus should shift to filling as many gaps as possible so the Cowboys can truly use a bpa approach. In the event they wanted to move up and draft an edge player earlier, they could do it without the pressure of feeling they needed the other picks to add depth.
