At some point the bill comes due, but if they win it all again this year they won't care if the team is trash down the road. Back to back Super bowl champions is rare air indeed. If Jerry could do it he would do it. He just does not that the stones to mortgage the future.

Who cares if they have to rebuild in a couple of years if they are winning superbowls while doing it? We're constantly 'rebuilding' but being rewarded with first and 2nd round playoff exists.

Our FO is acting like we have Brady and Bellichick and can afford to go cheap

The Cowboys have the worst capologist ever. More resources than any other team supposedly, but we go bargain shopping.

How do they manage to pay all of these guys? I meant the Rams
we could to. we choose not to....cap can easily be manipulated...at some point in the future you pay, but if you get a superbowl or two in the process...its all worth it..

in the meantime Stephen Jones signes James washington and LVE....woo hooo....NOT

They have 8 guys that are taking up over half their cap...that was before the Wagner signing. They had around 9m to play with. Trading away draft picks means they don't have to worry about a rookie pool. About the same amount we have tied up in our top 8. And we have 14m to play with. It's not like our cap guys don't know what they are doing. We went from being 15m over the cap to having a lot to spend and having the ability to get more.

The biggest difference is on several of these deals they got sweetheart cap hits because the team that traded the players to them had to eat the signing bonus money.

Oh, and they have one of the best coaches in the league. Yeah, that helps too!

The Cowboys don’t want to move Parsons to DE. They like his versatility, and while Bobby would be a great addition, they weren’t going to bid high on him. They were just kicking the tires because Parsons is our dog LB.

Absolutely right. And when that bill does come due, the cap will be higher.

Agreed OP. Not sure how they do it, but they're planning on a 2nd SB, not saving money

What future? Stephen's grandkids?
JJ's got maybe 5 years left to enjoy a SB win, anything beyond that he'll be celebrating through a tube.

This mortgaging the future argument is hilarious.
