WR position is now the highest paid behind QB?

IN the last few years, we've seen that using a high draft pick for a RB is more miss than hit. It's smarter to invest in OL than RB.

There has been plenty of solid RB talent found in the middle-rounds across the NFL

AND it's usually best to move on from a RB after 4 years unless they're some kind of super special talent.

the day of the high-priced RB may be behind us and the league.

This may have something to do with the FO using another high pick in this draft although we have Lamb and Gallup. In other words, considering four of the top five WRs are making $25M+, we could see some teams recycling the position every 3/4 years. Ask yourself, would you pay Lamb $25-30M in 2 years?

It may also have something to do with the fact that we need to move on from Dak because if he can't win on last year's team, he aint winning.

That's the difference between Brady and Dak. Brady wins on that team we had last year.

That said, we haven't won a Superbowl in how many years now?? Since 1996.

You haven't drafted a QB in the first round since '89.

C'mon, Jerry. Pull it out already.

We're an OK team with a 4th round quarterback.

Think about if we picked a QB in the first round.

We can do it; we've just been conditioned to not want a QB in the draft early on.

Okay?

Who is arguing with you? All I said was that is not that right now. He will have his chance to prove it.

He would've been 9th in yards and tied for 15th in catches last season by your projections. I'm not paying him top WR money for that production. You're going to have to actually be a top WR to get top WR money.
He would have been much better if the QB would throw him the ball when he is wide open. Cooper had the same problem, but he was blamed for not having better stats.

This isn’t surprising at all. The Super Bowl featured the two best receiving corps in the league and the two best WRs in Kupp and Chase. Ja’marr alone turned multiple 10-20 yd gains into long scorched earth touchdowns with raw athletic ability and speed. It’s arguable that WR is now the second most important position over LT and DEs.
And two of the best D's. Neither gets there w/o it.

This is a silly NFL overreaction.

WRs are the new RBs. What hasn't changed is the importance of replenishing the trench positions.
