You had me but the aikman stuff I'm confused on, yes I think his health may not be the best, then this daughter stuff it's a lot so why not just give up power he'll surely have input as always but he won't be seen nearly as much

Aikman has been in the media recently talking about how he would like to become an executive for an NFL team, saying something along the lines of that's what he initially wanted to do when he retired from football... but that he had daughters and so the job in broadcasting made more sense to him, to spend time with family.

I only assume they are somewhat grownup now. And with the photos scandal, and Jones' age, that might open up a spot somewhere for Aikman to fit in, like as director of personnel. While McClay or Stephen take over GM duties.

I can't call it. Just a hunch I could be off on.

New piece of art work for the stadium.
Some piece of gaudy looking piece of crap that no one understands. In lieu of illegitimate child gate his wife gets an open check book for crap art.

You see, some teams spend money on FA”s. This team spends it on crap art.

I like the way you think, but not sure Jerry does.

Two scenarios: Jerry introduces his 5th wife and admits that is Jr's real Mommy. Second, Kool Aid Stadium will be named the new home of the Dallas Cowboys

Maybe announcing that Sean Payton will be head coach in 2023 and everybody just hang in there this year.

That would be nice.

But somehow, I smell Aikman.

And if I'm right, that changes a lot of things.

If, by the slim chance they announce a GM change, I'd be thrilled going into the draft.

Because then it's a whole new ball game.

You think he's clinging on until his dying day, eh?

No retirement at all?

Could be...
One thing about Jerry, his ego is so big that it supersedes rational thought and especially showing now.
Al Davis was Jerrys mentor when Jerry first introduced himself into this league and my biggest fear at that time was that Jerry would hang on to the reigns too long.
That was even before our 3 Championships, and I was worried then.
Jerry has relinquished some control over the years to SJ, but that is more about just keeping it in the family, rather than hiring a proven GM in this league.
Jerry is comfortable and satisfied with remaining slightly competitive, just as long as its still all about the Jones' label and control.
Nobody will be allowed from the outside to come in now at this point and be given an opportunity to turn this franchise around and take any credit.
It simply will not be allowed to happen.
The Cowboys are Jerrys team, and he isn't sharing.

The cynic in me says this is all PR smoke and mirrors to deflect the negative press away from the Dalrymple scandal, the Jerry paternity scandal, and a lackluster offseason by distracting the media with a shiny new topic to talk about….

All of us will be disappointed because it will have absolutely nothing to do with the actual team, will be some sort of new advertising/sponsor that puts more $$$ in the Joneses pockets!

I think Jerry may be stepping back a little, with health and the recent scandals.

If it's just more self serving BS, please tell me exactly why the media should feel compelled to both cover and report it? Screw em both!!!

The wording in the Tweet suggests that they are "hosting" a "Major business announcement press conference."
To me, it infers that other people or organizations are involved in a possible joint venture.
As well, it is, "with Jerry Jones and special VIP guests."
Now, I would be interested first and foremost in someone like Aikman coming in, and/or for some diminished role for Jerry.
However, the wording just does not suggest Cowboy operations. (I hope to heck I am wrong.)
There was recent news about one of the Cowboys' sponsors, Molson Coors, who owns Miller Lite.
Or, maybe the name of the stadium is changing.
Or maybe sponsor branding on uniforms, though I think the NFL would spearhead that announcement.
