I'd rather he stay in SFO than go to Philly. I was more or less thinking of logical options for him to go if SFO accepts his request.

Yeah I'm not huge on Philly, but I'd like to see him leave the 9ers. They take a step back if that happens. I agree though, I don't want that dude twice a year. Have to believe some of it is Shannys genius though.

Exactly. And both 1sts this year should do it. Especially with the WR class this year. The 49ers could use the picks to replace Deebo, meanwhile Philly gets a player that they desperately need. Meanwhile, if I'm Jerry seeing this possibly happening, I'm getting another corner early this year. Not 1st as we need oline this year, but my 2nd round pick is likely the best CB we can get round 2 to counter this possibility from Philly. Especially if they then go QB next year, and they could use their 1sts next year to move up for a top 5 QB in the draft.

Too bad it's the Eagles we're talking about. Makes me sick thinking about it. I just hope there's no Burrow or Herbert coming out of college next year.

I would agree about Shanny, but also, I want nothing to do with Deebo twice a year. However, I think, scarily, Philly is the most logical option for Deebo considering the ammo and need they have.

It's why I said I feel dirty for even thinking about it. However, thinking logically and objectively, this scarily has Eagle written all over it. This is a move the Eagles would make, and I wouldn't be surprised if they try it. We need to be ready for it. The division is weak rn. Their GM is much more aggressive than what we have, and this would be a move to try to level things up with us. They know we aren't going to do anything in FA. They know we rely on the draft. They probably see that as something to take advantage of. The Giants aren't much of a threat. They have 2 1sts, but they have a horrible QB and their management is atrocious. The Commanders are a laughing stick. Thus, it's mainly us dominating the division, and the Eagles aren't a team I'd expect to sit back and take it with the ammo they have.

Didn't someone predict Fish would be all over this? And he is.

Well he’d immediately become our best RB, which means he might get like 2 snaps of zeke amputates a foot. After all Stephen said we’re lucky to have him

Being dual RB is the only thing that makes him interesting. Now he wants to be a pure WR and lose his edge? Shanahan should cut his ties and find the next RB/WR.

Additionally, there's a precedent for the Eagles making a move for a WR from SFO. Remember what happened with TO? This would be a move for a TO without the distraction. So, this has even more of a sickening thought for me, but it is realistic imo based on precedent as well. They did not trade for TO, but this would be an Eagles move.

Stephen will come out with an offer…we would like to give a 2nd, but will do a 1st 2nd and a 1st next year
He’ll cost as much as Amari. Why would you trade for a guy and give up a premium pick when you only got a 5th for someone that’s a better pure WR than Deebo. Deebo is very good as a gadget do everything guy. He’s not elite as just a pure WR. Part of what makes him great is his unpredictability

This is the second guy that wanted to get away from Kyle because of how he was used. RGIII had issues to being a read option qb in NFL. Denanded a portion of the qb running plays be taken out of playback.

RG3 whole draft scouting report was about how he’s an electric runner, bails early doesn’t slide or throw the ball away and takes too many hits, because of putting his body at risk.

Shanahan didn’t even want to draft him, because he knew RG3 couldn’t play in a pro-style offense and he was a Snyder pick. Shanahan drafted Cousins as well, who was more of a pocket passer than RG3 ever was.

RG3 was an exception among the QBs of the Shanahan system that includes guys like Matt Ryan, besides to many, the greatest QB ever in Elway. Pure pocket QBs.

Shanahan was fine with drafting RG3, he wasn't fond of the picks they had to give up to move up to get him. He admitted that more than once on an a radio show here.

With Griffin, something else was going on.

The designed quarterback running plays that had become a staple of the offense were mostly missing from the Cousins game plan (the backup had only one designed run). Griffin was furious that Cousins was not asked to assume the same risks that the Shanahans seemed so comfortable making him take. The chasm between the young star and Washington’s father-son coaching tandem would only worsen.

Feb. 5, 2013 — Griffin called for a meeting. He declined to tell Mike Shanahan what he wanted to discuss, saying only it was important. Griffin, Mike and Kyle Shanahan and quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur gathered in the offensive meeting room at the team headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia. With the coaches seated, Griffin walked to a blackboard and wrote:

  1. Change things.
  2. Change our protections.
  3. Unacceptable.
  4. Bottom line.
Griffin instructed the coaches to let him speak uninterrupted and rolled through a list of grievances, stressing that substantive changes had to occur immediately. Scrap the pass protection scheme and start over, Griffin demanded. There were 19 plays — primarily those from the 50-series and quarterback draws — that were unacceptable. Griffin, who supported his presentation with video clips of each play, expected them to be deleted from the playbook. Bottom line, Griffin said, he was a drop-back quarterback — not a running quarterback.

From what’s being reported he doesn’t like the amount of hits he’s taking carrying the ball. He’s worried about the longevity of his career. Apparently he just wants to be a receiver. He was also complaining about not being used enough later in the season.
