Grade Dallas 1st Round selection of Tyler Smith.

I'm giving them a C.

He has potential to be a great Guard, but definitely needs some work on penalties..

I also would have preferred Dallas to go with DE Jermaine Johnson there. He appears to be much better value than Smith.

But Oline definitely needs to be revamped.

I’ll say B. He’s raw but they need a mailer at LG and he fits the profile if he can develop.

I went C. It's a first round-ish grade on a tackle. I don't like who you passed on when you took him, but Tackles are a very valuable position, so even if it's a bit of reach, he was the best T left at that time.

C, for now. Did not really like the pick as to other players available. But more I read, and will need to see video also. I can live with it (I think anyway) if he plays at OG.

Have to look at this subjectively as to where he was taken at 24. What better graded players did Dallas pass on to draft him? Jermaine Johnson…

We needed a linemen and got one of the best linemen available. That simple. Can’t complain at 24.

This was my grade. Not an F because we need Oline. But they passed on strong talent; took a project and took a guy who exemplifies our issues…penalties

I think it'll take more time than what is practical to use him before much later this year. I felt quite generous giving him a C. He might well be a physical specimen but he's extremely raw.

The intitial grade I have to go with a C. You had a potential top 10 pick at a premium position fall right into your laps. You make that move.

If I didn't like Smith as a player, Id give it an F for that alone. However I I think in 4 years he could be playing at a level of the OT's that went top 10. And all three of them are All Pro caliber talents

Not because the player but due to circumstances……there were far better players on the board. Dallas needed a day one starter and may not have gotten one.

I’m just mad we didn’t trade up for Quay Walker. Him and Parsons would have been a beastly combo. Just imagine them rotating responsibilities…

C. I don’t really mind the pick itself as much as their draft strategy to not trade up before they were wiped out. Tyler Smith has positives but needs technical work for sure.
