when was the last time a HC of another team, mocked another team after the 1st round of a draft? and to laugh at Belichick of all coaches.
Especially when that team has no picks and is not exactly known as great drafters.....

The thing is, if a team really likes a player and thinks he'll fit, the risk of waiting until a later pick might not be worth it.

Belichek is becoming the old doddering uncle you leave sitting in the corner on Thanksgiving
I had said for YEARS as soon as Brady left what would happen.... same with the Steelers, same with the Saints, Denver and on and on and on..... those teams struck gold with the QB that was far more responsible for the team's success than any coach. The QB went away and so did the teams success.

Its amazing how much better that 3rd rd center looks when his QB is drew brees.

Call me crazy, but I'd much rather use 1st round picks to get guys like Matt Stafford and Jalen Ramsey instead of taking my chances on some kid that may or may not ever be anything.

The Rams clearly do things the right way and it's paying off.

If Goff would've led the Cowboys to the Super Bowl like he did the Rams Jerry would have him under a Mahomes type of contract right now. While the Rams knew he wasn't the guy and got rid of him.

You can easily see the difference between a bad ran organization and a well ran one.

People laughed at the Frederick pick too, everyone thought it was a reach.
Most people in the nfl didn’t laugh at Fred pick
He was rated late one, early two on most boards
This is a reach to me but he will be on a team known for getting the most out of players so he has a solid chance of success

Probably happens all the time. They just never had the mic and camera shoved in their face for us to see it.
Most wouldn’t do it publicly but these guys have huge egos and they all think they are the smartest in the room

Fredrick was considered a half a round reach. One round at the very most.

The NE pick is a 2 round, maybe a 3 round reach according to many

Big difference

NE hasn't been particularly good at drafts. They've had Brady and Bellichick's coaching to cover a lot of their drafting warts

seems that way.

Kinda crazy to realize it was really just the combination of those two guys that were overwhelmingly responsible for their success

I would much rather draft guys like Dak in the 4th, Diggs in the 2nd than overpay for Stafford and Ramsey.

That is just me.

That may be sensible

But Stafford and Ramsey have rings to prove that maybe the Rams way of building has merit also.

Dak and Diggs are still waiting. And likely waiting a long time

While I wouldn’t count The Hoodie out, his drafts have been a bit of a crap shoot. His ability to coach is far superior to his talent evaluation process in the draft.

Actually Frederick was largely predicted to be a third round pick that might creep into the second round. Ultimately it didn’t matter, as he became a dominant player for us.

I just looked up the 2013 draft threads...lol.

Many thought it was a big reach.
Some thought it was a slight reach but a good player and a good trade (me)
And some absolutely hated it. ( I can name names but won't)
