I don't want to interject negative thoughts. His results seem impressive enough. It's just that, watching the tape, he looks a bit stiff, with a gradual change of direction. It could just be those particular plays that stood out to me.

There's a reason why he didn't run a 3 cone or do the short shuttle. It would have confirmed your findings. He is stiff in the hips and lower body.

Rather have to teach that than pass rush

Absolutely. But the coaches have got to be willing to play him and they may not. He will need reps and it can't just be on the few perfect opportunities a game.

He has one of the quickest first steps in this class and many scouts note that. Thats how he gets so many bull rushes. He also has insanely good 1 cut quickness which he leveraged play after play.to get pressure.
This guy has sacks versus Alabama and Miss St who just sent OTs into the top 10 of this draft.
I know zero of his off-field stuff which sound like a red flag but his tape is very very good. 16 TFL, 12.5 sacks as a SEC edge playing both RDE and LDE?? Hard to beat that production. In fact it looks almost identical to J Clowney's who went 1st overall.

He does play too high for a guy that's 6'3". He rushes a lot like Micah, 1 step, plant and go.

He has no off field issues

I like the Sam Williams pick a lot.

His speed and size and production are all elite. He put up the same numbers as the #2 overall pick, has elite physical tools and he played in the SEC.

Cowboys got him at a discount cause of allegations 2 years ago that were dropped.

Free agency was terrible. But I really like the first three draft picks.

They say it doesn't as much as some. I noticed one of the explosive measurements (vertical) was not great, but another (broad jump) was.

I like his chances to be well worth pick 56, but we'll see if its beyond that.
He has huge upside with some polish

With that kind of speed and athleticism he can certainly rush the passer and chase down fast QB's out of the pocket. Run down ball carriers from the backside. A guy you have to block.

Run defenes is definitely a concern, but for now he just needs to rush the passer. 3rd and long just got longer for Cowboys opponents.

Lawrence, Gallimore, Osa, Williams
Parsons

Just asking, why is his rushing defense a concern? I have done absolutely no research on Williams, so I don’t know. Does he get blown-up playing defense against the run? Is his rushing defense as bad as Robert Quinn’s defense or is it more of a case of not knowing?

I dont know him that well to tell you. Just read it about every time you read about him.

We can only hope he isnt as bad as Quinn. Quinn I dont think even bothers to stop the run. Its just upfield at the QB every time.

Good to see you still hating on this forums team. Lol. Get a life.
Hey, nice to see ya, I remember you being wrong about things and then hiding away for awhile.

It's good (not really) to see ya back! I'd not make predictions though. but if you do, for sure be able to eat the crow when you're wrong instead of hiding away.
