Just an observation.

Teams don't tend to decide on their primary punt return man based purely on speed. They're looking for the guy with good hands and who is elusive in the open field, who is capable of averaging 8 or more yards, while never never never fumbling. Being able to take it to the house is more of a preference than it is a requirement for most teams.

Doesn't have the speed
Many great punt returners aren’t super speedy. Quickness, toughness, ability to avoid the first hit, and the ability to catch punts in traffic and all kinds of wind and weather matter more than speed.

Brian Mitchell, Wes Welker, Dwayne Harris are examples of guys who weren’t that fast but excellent punt returners. Currently, Hunter Renfrow and Devin Duvernay also are not burners but average 10 yds per return. Jakeem Grant is a current speed guy who is an excellent punt returner, averaging nearly 12 yds a return.

Bottom line- PRs need to be tough, quick, and dependably sure-handed more than fast.
