Any guesses as to the plan for returns especially punt returns? I doubt Lamb does it full time anymore and from what I can see from the UDFA list so far none of these guys are return specialists. Any ideas?

I've been through every bio, and there's not even a UFDA who has any recent history of kick returns. Believe I read that Juanyeh Thomas had a couple of kick returns for TD as a freshman. And Aaron Shampklin had some success returning kicks in high school, but that probably means nothing... many guys who make it to this point were their high school teams' do-it-all guys.

I have to believe there's a plan. But it's hard to believe the plan is the #1 WR or the #1 CB. Nahshon Wright was the only other player to field a punt (1) in 2021.

Pollard is probably a candidate to do both, but I really wish we had that designated dangerous return guy!

My complete and unapologetic guess?

Welcome back, Cole Beasley!

Yep, this is most likely Pollard's last season in Dallas so we might as well use him up.
kO yes punts no these are two very different skill sets not sure i want him back there as even he struggled on KOs a lot.

they can try other candidates all camp vasher and of the backup wrs or rbs or db etc.its waht camp is for. Someone will win that job

how about Washington?

More seriously than my previous guess... Jarvis Landry anyone?

There's a chance that Jaquan Hardy or Simi Fehoko might be tested for KR duty in TC.

Other than that, it'll most likely be Pollard. I imagine we'll see when the time comes.

Their third pick.
The wideout?

Ordinarily, of course, you prefer to have a player with some experience doing punt returns.

Tolbert, none. Simi, none. Hardy, none. Washington returned something like 5 kickoffs in college, all before his senior year; no punt returns.

I'll go on record that "the plan" is that they fully intend to sign a free agent WR yet who walks into training camp as a credible #2 receiver, if only while Gallup is out... and yes, who has some punt return duties on his resume'.

He was the full time punt returner earlier in his career...

Thats the key word earlier in his career. He wasn't a fast receiver coming out of college and I would imagine that speed has declined further.

One thing is pretty much for sure CeeDee won’t be returning punts anymore now that he’s our number one receiver. A player with a lesser role will be returning punts. KO returners are usually strictly special teams players.

Under the radar option...

Keelan Cole, who is looking for a bounce-back year after doing well in Jax, but then went to NYJ on a one-year contract and though he started, he wasn't very impressive.
