You may be right.. but as I watched him kick tail early in the season I was reminded of just how great he is when at full health. Then watching him gimp around after the injury was very disheartening. Maybe he is destined to miss some games but I still think getting the neck fixed gives him a chance to be peak Tyron for 14-16 games this year. I just can't think of a teammate blowing up my leg as my body "breaking down." But that's the beauty of sports.. We get to watch things play out.. so in about 6 months we will have our answers about where he is physically.
Weird. We watched Ty play well and drop off. We watched Dak play well and drop off. We watched Zeke play well and drop off. We could add Pollard and Gallup....maybe?

Anyone else?

I am sensing a pattern here.

A lot of people have been trying to bury the guy for the last 2-3 years.. but lest we forget, if Tony Pollard doesn't get knocked into his leg he very likely plays all 17 games last season. The neck and elbow both held up fine. Pollard's ..er.. lack of ...er... prowess blocking is often cited as the main reason the coaches trotted one legged Zeke out there the last 10-11 games of the season. Not just to protect Dak, but maybe to protect our offensive linemen from Pollard.. Pollard has certainly gotten better each year as a blocker.. but that play were the dude threw him into Tyron's legs is a recurring nightmare.. He's got a ways to go and really needs to get better, especially if Moore is going to insist on throwing the ball 50 times a game.
I am praying for Tyron this season. I think the combination of him and Tyler will be fun to watch but part of getting older is you don’t bounce back as quick from injuries. Those ankle injuries kept him out longer then expected and by some comments we would hear from Dr. Jerry we really don’t know what was going on.

For three years his issue was the neck which he tried to play through. Once that was fixed he was good to go.. until Pollard happened. I think he plays at least 16 games this year..
Could've just said this instead of throw shade at Pollard.

I'm actually with you in that regard. He didn't have neck problems last year. Ankle was just bad luck. He said he has no plans on slowing down and he's only 31.

Not nearly as concerned about him as everyone else is.

...if he can stay healthy, I see at least another 2 good years of him. We can just hope.

Tyron isn’t what he was but is still a good player when he’s available, however his availability is becoming less each season. It’s not if he’ll miss games it’s how many. He may have a couple of more years left but another injury plagued season could retire him.

McGovern stepped on his bad ankle at Washington.
Yeah the original injury was Pollard crashing into it during the Patriots game and then McGovern reaggrivated it a few months later

I thought it was Dak's ankle that McGovern stepped.. Or did he get Tyron too?
Pollard collision was the original injury and then almost 2 months later McGovern got beat immediately off the line at the snap and crashed all of his body weight onto Tyrons ankle (his entire left knee fell into Tyrons ankle)

The pattern I see is that when fit Tyron is still a top LT and his performance in 2021 helped us to a 6-1 start, then injury and everything goes down hill. I wonder if he was fully fit when he came back, but the issue was that we didnt have another LT so he had to play.

Eleven years in the NFL is taking it's toll.

Meh...he would've gotten hurt another way if not for that incident. I don't have a problem with him starting but he needs to be rotated in and out now. He can help but he's no longer the dominant guy he used to be.

Tyron is not a guy I want to get rid of anytime. I would actually prefer we find an LT (wheather that ends up being Tyler) and sliding back over to RT. Ill even pay him LT money. Its much easier to find a fill in at RT than it is at LT

He always misses games because of the neck issue. Last year not once but twice he had a player fall on his ankle. Just bad luck last year. When healthy he’s still top3 at his position.

When you said Bad Luck, got me thinking of the Great Teddy Pendergrass singing “Bad Luck” for Harold Melvin and Bluenotes for you old school guys.

He's a free agent after the 2023 season.....hard to believe he's only 32 ( old 32 though ).

I don’t think he I nearly the player that he used to be. I think it’s rose colored glasses thinking he is still a top flight offensive tackle.

And there is the issue. We do not have such players, and Zeke no longer has any burst to fight off and DL who gets into the back field in a jiffy. Let's not forget who our QB1 is.....

Zeke was fighting them off just fine until the knee.. and really even kept doing a decent job at it until the thing started locking up on him. Anybody who has ever had a partial ligament tear can attest to just how tricky those damn things can be. They can be absolutely fine.. right up until they're not. You get hit the wrong way or move the wrong way and BOOM! And then with 4-5 days a rest they can fool you again into believing they're fine. Zeke should have sat 4-6 weeks to heal up completely. Even if he missed 6 games and we go 3-3 (which I think we did anyway) having him back at 100% for the stretch run and the playoffs would have been a BIG plus for this team.

That's fine....but would you agree that we saw a "decline" in several critical players? Dak? Zeke? any others?

I'm looking at the bigger picture here, if this is true...very concerning! Just coincidence? Or systemic health issue?

A great OT that you can have for 12-13 games still has a ton of value in this league. Anyone suggesting it's time to cut bait is too stupid to talk on this subject.
