A lot of people have been trying to bury the guy for the last 2-3 years.. but lest we forget, if Tony Pollard doesn't get knocked into his leg he very likely plays all 17 games last season. The neck and elbow both held up fine. Pollard's ..er.. lack of ...er... prowess blocking is often cited as the main reason the coaches trotted one legged Zeke out there the last 10-11 games of the season. Not just to protect Dak, but maybe to protect our offensive linemen from Pollard.. Pollard has certainly gotten better each year as a blocker.. but that play were the dude threw him into Tyron's legs is a recurring nightmare.. He's got a ways to go and really needs to get better, especially if Moore is going to insist on throwing the ball 50 times a game.

Did you see the Niners game? He got worked by no names. Pretty embarassing.

He was still gimpy.. He missed games because of a high ankle sprain and tried to come back .. He wasn't nearly himself those last two games hobbling around. I think he gets back closer to peak Tyron this year if we can just keep Pollard away from his legs.

P.S. If you think the 49ers defensive front was "no names" you need to watch more football.

TSmith always has something happen during the season where he misses several multitude of games, not just one. Like clockwork. If it was not the leg, could have been something else. I have no problem with him still being out there, my problem is we know he is gonna miss games but do not have some adequate backup... and i mean adequate. We are in the same position again this year. He is on the downside of his HOF career. Let's see what they do now.

Tyron gets injured every year, regardless of Pollard. His time is almost up, so break out the shovels.

He looked tired, old, slow and out of shape in that niners playoff game. If he comes to TC looking that bad, he needs to call it a career before he stinks up the joint. When players start to break down, they don't come
back very often.

McGovern stepped on his bad ankle at Washington.

Hey, you want to buy a car? It breaks down every year, but I think it's back close to peak this year if literally nothing touches it then it should be fine. But, if by chance something touches it then it might break down again. But why would anything touch it? It's not like you're playing a contact sport or anything, right? So, buy it?

a So you are blaming Pollard for knocing Ty out and rendering him useless? You follow that up by suggesting Pollard healthy was better than one leg Zeke? Let me get that understood? I am one of Ty's biggest fans and he is one of all time fav's, but to suggest he would likely have played an entire season if this didn't happen is silly. I guess if Ty played two hand touch he could play a full season, but in no world that we live in will a man of his size/health withstand the riggers of a tough NFL. This is not a knock on him, but the reality of a guy who has given his all to football and just doesn't have his tank close to full any longer.

Also some players didn't looked the same after having covid.

Hopefully his luck will change. The dude has such an expansive arm and leg span, it's hard to not get an incidental piece of him at the LOS.

Heck, we can create an "If" scenario for every year Smith misses games if it makes us feel better and pretend he is going to make it through a full season without missing time, but it doesn't change the fact that he indeed misses games.

You may be right.. but as I watched him kick tail early in the season I was reminded of just how great he is when at full health. Then watching him gimp around after the injury was very disheartening. Maybe he is destined to miss some games but I still think getting the neck fixed gives him a chance to be peak Tyron for 14-16 games this year. I just can't think of a teammate blowing up my leg as my body "breaking down." But that's the beauty of sports.. We get to watch things play out.. so in about 6 months we will have our answers about where he is physically.

He always misses a lot of games the last years. Theres always something with him. Hes clearly on the downside of his career now.

Im still ok trotting him out 2-3 years IF we have a capable back up. But thats a big if.

One of my favorite Cowboys and likely another HOFer that gets no ring. but eleven seasons is high mileage in this league. He has had a whole lot of "bad luck" for years now. Bottom line he cant be counted on for 17 games.

He always misses games because of the neck issue. Last year not once but twice he had a player fall on his ankle. Just bad luck last year. When healthy he’s still top3 at his position.

I thought it was Dak's ankle that McGovern stepped.. Or did he get Tyron too?
Nah he got Tyron too. Clumsy.

Then went to check on Tyron instead of finishing the play. I watched it a few times to confirm my disbelief.

He was so bad and I can't figure out how. Biadasz' play went to hell as soon as the Williams/McGovern swap was made also.

I've given up on McGovern entirely. I'm thinking so has the team.

Shameful because he was solid at PSU and I thought he played well in place of Martin in 2020.

My avatar is a salute to him that day. I gott change it but lazy. Zoom in. Take a look. Enjoy lol.
