need to committ more to the run game.
og tyler smith should help make that an easier decision as the game unfolds.
…..
if we can score in the red zone and get stops on 3rd down...we'll be improved over last season.
if we continue to struggle in the red zone and not get stops to close out games...we won't.
There are 100’s of ways to get better. If non of those happen we could still get better.I'll start by saying this isn't what I think will happen, but rather, this is what I think needs to happen if we are to be better than last season. There's clearly been a talent drain on offense (Cooper, Collins, Wilson, Williams, Jarwin) and it has been replaced with far less. That means like Dan Quinn did last season, we need for our offense to get more from less.
So my list of things that need to happen to be better than last season:
That's a big ask, I have no confidence it will happen, but if we can make it happen then we could take a step forward from what we saw last season.
- Tyler Smith needs to be on the rookie team of the year.
- Ceedee needs to have double-digit TD's and be force feed by Dak, scheme'd open by Kellen
- Ferguson needs to be a sneaky red zone threat and RedZone foil to Ceedee
- Zeke needs to get out of Pollard's way
- Farniok needs to take Biadasz's job
- Dak needs to stay healthy and have confidence in his O-line
its not about pass protection. its about the running game. if the running game doesn't work. offense has no chance...the OL has to step up the game. Dak's confidence level rides the wave with it. Its better to have 4-5 secs to throw then 2-3. Makes world of difference.

- Ferguson needs to be a sneaky red zone threat and RedZone foil to Ceedee FERGY ISN'T BEATING OUT SCHULTZ
- Zeke needs to get out of Pollard's way COACHES WILL NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN
- Farniok needs to take Biadasz's job SHOULD BE AN OPEN COMPETITION BUT COACHES WON'T ALLOW IT
- Dak needs to stay healthy and have confidence in his O-line

Losing Moore would be an addition by subtraction. That's how we get better. So our offense won't be any better this year, but the defense will. We just need to bring back Bill Callahan as our offensive coordinator next year.
Moore sucks.
If what you say comes to pass, that would be great. But let's take a more realistic approach. Just take two of your 6. Say 2 and 3. Williams is as good as people think and is an impact player. Some of our interior lineman on D improve and we're better against the run. Not likely, but legit possibilities.
I got the impression that the Cowboys were drafting with status quo in mind. I would have taken a different path and focused on what the draft gave us. The Cowboys could have improved the D, and waited until the 3rd round for an OL. At least there's improvement somewhere as opposed to status quo. But that's just my crap opinion, and I'm usually wrong anyway.
The offense will get better if the Oline performs better, and it really is as simple as that. Dak is a good qb, but not a guy who will cover major deficiencies like we had last season. Oline plays well, the running game shouldnt fall off a cliff like it did last year. With a solid running game to keep defenses honest Dak can flourish, and we still have enough talent at the skill positions for him to do so.
Dak needs to replicate last years first half for the whole season. That’s where the season hinges.
Don’t see us being better this season at least not record wise. The only thing that will make a difference is a more determined group of players with at least two rookies making a significant impact and better coaching. McCarthy is on the hot seat and if the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs or at least get past the divisional round he’s likely gone.
I think this team has a decent chance of ending the upcoming season with a 10-7 record.
Whether it's enough to win the Eastern Division simply remains to be determined.
Let's just say the planets will be obliged to align properly for such a scenario to be seen!
So your saying the planets have to align for the Cowboys to win 10 games?
Let's not take that phrase literally. What it means, in essence, is that thing would have to go well. Is that that clear enough now?
or GB Rodgers> DakPlay anyone except SF in the playoffs.
