1981, Polo was probably the most popular fragrance with young men in the 1990's

According to Google Polo was launched in 1978. By my 20s I started using fragrance and alcohol free products after shaving. Once in a while I would use a dab of cologne but I didn’t like smelling perfumed.

I switched to Old Spice after shave from the Brut my mother put in our stockings at Christmas when I was a teenager. I still kinda like the smell of Brut, I'm sure it just nostalgia.

I remember those little bottles of Brut. English Leather was another one I used. I even found an old bottle of Vitalis I used on my hair. That was another scent that brings back memories of the bell bottom years. Speaking of fragrances I remember the smell of those freshly inked test papers in school. As soon as the teacher laid them on our desk we would sniff them. We can only imagine all the brain cells we were damaging.

Irony at its best!

Don't wear cologne like I did as a younger man.

However I did like...

Obsession
Royal Copenhagen
United colors by Benetton
Joop

On the rare occasions I might where it now, I wear Joop.

Same here. I don't wear cologne anymore. And in my day men called it aftershave.

I liked Obsession too, but before that I liked British Sterling. I cannot tell you how many compliments I got from women when I would splash on some British Sterling after a shave.

I thought of another one, Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein. I used to use the Eternity deodorant too.

Regular occasions I like 2 stroke exhaust.

Special occasions I'll break out the Hoppes #9.

Aftershave is different. Cologne is sprayed on the pulse points of the neck and wrists.

Spraying on the wrist seems girly to me. No?

I usually spray on the neck and chest.
Pulse points are the recommended places. Axe body spray probably goes on the chest, but not so much cologne. That would be a lot, I think.

I could see you thinking it was "girly" to put it behind the knees, but the wrists are masculine...at least mine are.

I think "girly" enters the chat the second the cap comes of the bottle of perfume errrr.... cologne I mean.

(The above comment was made in the spirit of good natured ball busting.)

Slightly off-topic, but when I was a kid I liked the signature logo I saw on a Perry Ellis cologne bottle and I've signed my named similarly since.
