Since 2000 about when I started following the Cowboys

The Cowboys regular season and postseason record is 182-177 as I've calculated. I went through every year of that, and yes, that is apparently our record.

Just thought it was an interesting thought.

You have to realize, though, this is the biggest factor no one is talking about in this thread.

After 1994, the NFL became a cap league.

Before that, there was no cap. So it was easy for the Cowboys to dominate, because they had the money to spend.

This is a different era.

I would also add. Penalty-happy referees are killing the game.

Back in the day, referees were fair. Nowadays, too many of them are hellbent on impacting the game themselves. Look no further than the last Super Bowl where there was a questionable holding call to put the Rams at 1st and goal at like the 3. Refs seemed to either be favoring the Rams, or trying to push it to overtime for ratings.

Either way, it's not the same league it was back when we dominated. We have different factors to deal with now, and Jones haven't really done all that well in the cap era.

I've followed the Cowboys since their inception in 1960. If we had, somehow, managed to follow the route that we took with Landry and Tex Schramm since then, we'd be the most incredible football team to ever grace the Hall of Fame. Alas, when the Jones family took over, such a glorious destiny simply wasn't meant to be. We won division titles before then, without any concern whether it would continue or not. It was our destiny back then.

Since then, many souls who have stuck with the team are only left wonder why we do so. Well, I'm here to tell you that the secret just lies in being entertained and not reliant upon being Super Bowl winners. You, too, can be a recipient of this real-world sort of salvation! Limit your expectations. ;)

Unfortunately you picked a bad time to start following the Cowboys. The 2000 season is when things started going south. It’s a wonder you’ve stuck with them. lol

Oh definitely, and I think we've been among the more common victims of over officiating. See the Raiders game.

If what happened between 2000 and 2005 didn’t scare him away nothing will. Lol The team went through 8 different QBs. Even Clint Stoerner got an opportunity during those years.

Which is one of the biggest reasons I appreciated Romo and appreciate Dak. I do not want to go back to those years.

Since 2000, the Cowboys are a bottom 5 NFL franchise.
Not quite, look at Jaguars, Browns, lions, Jets, Texans & even Miami .

Their record should be even worse. But , of course Cowboys were mediocre and they had a few good years in between , but nothing to show for it.

Sometimes, in the dog days of summer, the water temps are high and the salmon are down deep and hard to find. As we troll along under the hot sun, minutes turn into hours. The mantra becomes, "Every minute that passes without a hit, is one minute closer to the next hit."

The next hit always comes, as long as we keep trying.

The next 20 years starts this September. Keep the faith boys and girls.
Now your talking my language.
