Best Cowboys Kicker?

With all of the kicking woes so far in camp, it got me thinking: who was the best Cowboys kicker? Bailey probabaly has the stats, but I grew up with Septien and he was pretty good too. Who else is in the mix?

Dan Bailey was the best, IMHO

My favorites were:
1. Tony Fritsch— A funny little potbellied Austrian who was full of personality and kicked on some of our championship teams.
2. Mike Clark— nothing special as a kicker, but I think he was the last of the old style straightforward kickers for Dallas and the image of him booting that ball in that fashion is stuck in my mind.
3. Danny Villanueva-Was a combination place kicker and punter. Never understood why you don’t see more of those in football, but I guess that two very different kinds of skills are involved

Least favorites:

1. Raphael Septien— for reasons outside of football.
2. Guy Vanderjerk— Or as he constantly referred to himself “the most accurate kicker in history.” Lolololol.

I think our kicker on opening day will be Maher. He was excellent last season.

Wow!!! I never knew about the Septien thing. Just looked it up. Dude should have got 30 years!!!! Good Lord.

I agree, he was good mainly because he wasn't a straight on kicker. But I've been watching a lot of past games and he can miss bigtime. You basically got to cross your fingers anytime he kicked from the left hash.
