A good chance that the Cowboys sign a offensive tackle next week

McGovern is starting to look like another textbook Cowboys round 2 and 3 bust. If the Jones boys want to try and convince us they can build a team exclusively through the draft you simply cannot swing and miss in the 2nd and 3rd round at the rate they do.

Right and they keep taking projects we need football players if we’re not gonna sign free agents we can’t afford these gambles on quality picks.

Yeah, we need a good swing tackle. Now.

I do like what I see from Smith so far, but a rookie with holding problems at LT and putting in a mediocre backup in McGovern in at LG is not a great backup plan for when Tyron goes down.

We have plenty in cap space to sign a decent swing tackle, or even throw a late round pick at one. If this team wants to make it to the playoffs, they have to.

Should have signed one in March.
You beat me to it. 100% correct. Fixing the o-line consisted of drafting a tackle to play guard who had 16 penalties last year and depending on mid to late round draft picks to handle the swing tackle position.

pathetic

That will change soon. Especially with preseason games beginning. No chance McGovern starts over Smith.

McGovern is a Philbin favorite so never say never.

McGovern should stay at FB imo.

Cowboys put a lot of faith this year in rookies or unproven players on the line. Going to bite them in the butt.

The Cowboys offense needs a backup for duty at LT in the worst way possible. Shame on the Cowboys' FO for putting it off for so long. Let's hope they'll get on the ball and realize that Ball isn't the answer and might very well never be. There are some decent ones still available, but they'd better get on the go and make it happen before they all decide to go work for other teams. Even Stevie Wonder could "see" that by now.

It's preseason,everyone needs to relax.

What I took from the game.

OFFENSIVE LINE
The o line made holes for Rico Dowdle,Malik Davis, and Aaron Shampklin.

The Left Tackle spot I believe needs to go to Tyler Smith.

Josh Ball I see as a Right Tackle

Terrence Steele & Matt Waletszko battle for swing tackle.

McGovern can fight for Left Guard with James Empey,Issiac Alarcon,Avante Collins.

How I see our O line

Tyron Smith
Connor McGovern
Tyler Biadiaz
Zack Martin
Josh Ball

Backups
Tyler Smith
James Empey
Terrence Steele
Avante Collins

Matt Waletszko- IR
Alec Lindstrom- PS
Issiac Alarcon- PS

WIDE RECEIVERS
They all had moments. I see the 6 to make the roster barring anymore injuries.

TIGHT ENDS
TEs look solid, but not special. Schultz will be a safety valve and red Zone target.

RUNNING BACKS
I liked what I saw. Impressed by all of them. Going to suck if we lose any through waivers.

DEFENSE

Fowler needs to start over Dorance Armstrong at RDE.

D- Line looks good but I think we one big star DT away from being great.

D line

McGovern has no chance of starting game 1 other than injury. None. ZERO. FO is just making him wait so he earns it.

You have more faith in Philbin doing what’s smart than I do.

No Ball had some good moments and some not. The sack I think he was expecting the left guard to pick the defender up. He is OK as LT ,but RT he could be very good. Arms long as a skycraper, decent feet, etc.
